"Laturaivo" (fury on the tracks) makes national headlines at least a few times a year.
Same same. I don’t mind hounds on the canine-permitted tracks, don’t even mind snowshoers as long as they keep off the classic track-sets. But post hole’rs, especially in the tracks, gets the club members blood boiling. Love the word “Laturaivo”, will have to bring that to the local club’s lexicon this season. Once we finally get some snow that is.

    going nordic = going ghay?

So sauna treatment is somehow different than a hotbox that a lot of us use here in cross country land?
It’s really really rare that somebody walks in the classic track, even on the multiuse trails .

Must be nice. For some reason around here, a perfectly formed ski track is just irresistible for certain people to walk in.

Our local resort has trails that run pretty close to a bunch of vacation homes - people seem to think that just because they rented an AirBnB for the weekend that gives them the right to posthole on trails that are clearly marked as restricted to pass holders on skis (and I guarantee that none of these people has paid for a day pass). Even some of the permanent residents try to pull the "this is public land" card (yes, it's owned by the US Forest Service, who leases it to the resort for the winter). I don't even bother trying to get walkers off the trail any more, I just ask them to walk on the side (outside the classic track) rather than down the middle of the skate track.

I've got an Indy Pass for the first time this winter. Any nordic areas on the pass that are highlights? I'm BC-based so Sovereign Lake and Nickel Plate are both on the list, but I've got a couple months free so may wander as far south as Oregon.

49 Degrees North has some touring trails that are NOT highlights! Loup Loup is tiny, but, you might like the mom and pop feel of the place? The Indy website lists Methow Trails XC, that would be scenic. Perhaps the Magnificent Unicorn will chime in, he's from around there I think ....

If your near south eastern BC, Nancy Green Summit is fantastic low angle touring. They have a network of small day use cabins with wood fireplaces scattered all over. Amazing place.

And! Red Mtn is right down the road

Loup Loup is fun for a day or two. Check the snow report before coming, things can be a bit thin. There are Nordic trails on the North and South side of Loup Loup Pass that are groomed weekly. The trail system in the Methow is top notch with daily grooming of most trails. Shoot me a PM if anyone is headed this way and wants some beta.

Oh, probably it isn't different, not familiar with the hotbox. Might be more commonly available than a proper sauna?

Looks like Leavenworth XC is on the Indy Pass. Are you doing downhill as well? If we get snow Mission is here too. Not on the pass but Echo Ridge above Lake Chelan is good XC too when they get snow.

JF is Sat but we are holding out for mild weather and low winds instead for a SUP mission.

Maybe you've got a typo there -- she actually won by 23.1 seconds over Sweden's Ebba Anderson -- even more incredible.

She credited her team, particularly the ski techs:

"We had amazing skis, I felt like I was flying out there. In one of the corners I almost flew out of the track, like 'OK, these are amazing skis'."

Rosie Brennan finished sixth in the race. Tomorrow is a relay event -- it will be interesting to see how well the Jessie/Rosie team do.
