08/09 and 09/10 for sure both saw sub 1% warranty rates.
I have a pair of 07/08 bamboo sidewall wailers.... does this mean I get to swap them for a pair of 10/11 RP112's.??????? Paging Marshal. I'm running out of Gorilla Glue( DPS's answer to all repairs)

I have significant ( extensive) but structurally minor chipping on Wailers as well.
Very annoying... my wife says " now tell me again why those shitty looking chipped up skis are so technically advanced. ( I hate the way she emphasizes "Technically" when she says it.)
I had significant topsheet chipping on my Lotus 120's that were then warrantied.
Still lust after all DPS skis but the goodwill has been severely stretched and I would suggest DPS's handling of late skis becoming somewhat repetative and stretching their goodwill to the limit.

Your corporate topsheet is chipping. You'd better get some PR Gorilla Glue!

Edit to add: NEVER was an OP's thread title so prescient.

Marshall the bentgate video was good and that type of stuff is great for viral web and video content.
WOW you must be totally impartial!
If this isn't a plea for a job I don't know what is.
You shoulda asked about his customer background DPS for god's sake.

By definition that's not "good". Like killing someone.

BTW DPS reps - you should know just how much better Scots men are at tonguing ass.

DPS really has no interest in offering "excuses", and fully owns the fact that the skis are late in delivery. they are late, it is really unfortunate, and we completely apologize. we certainly understand how this affects the consumer, and the consumer's ability to believe DPS' delivery claims.

as far as production, we ran the presses up until jan 30 on carry-over product (ie wailer 105, cassiar 80) the factory is closed for the month of February, march was used to transport all goods from their source and finalize production setup, production schedulued to begin april 1 with projected delivery dates beginning august 1 and being complete by sept 15 (meaning the last ship date would have been 1 month early to the customer). several unforeseeable delays occurred that we could not account for in planning, (top sheet material from austria got delayed in customs for an additional month+, the cnc machine that profiles cores broke and took a couple additional weeks to be 100% back at capacity) and as mentioned the scrap rate was higher than anticipated (20% instead of the normal sub-5%), which dictated we needed to do a second pressing of skis, which means extra time to re-setup each model, etc. so here we are.

we are most certainly striving to communicate with our customers as transparently and honestly as possible, and to provide as much up to date information as possible.

if you would like more details or information on your order or how DPS works, the build schedule or whatever, always feel free to pm me. never a problem.

DPS is certainly not asking for pity on this. it is our fault without question and we are doing our best to work with each individual customer to get this resolved to the best situation possible. i certainly do not begrudge some of the sentiment here. this is not the first time DPS has been late on delivery. the reasons may be different, but the net result (skis showing up after the advertised delivery date) is the same. its not ok, and going forward, dps will follow a different model on how production and sales work.

On the flip side my experience has been great so far. Pre order on the website was easy. Both inquiries garnered a quick detailed response. Tracking info was recieved last week and Wailer 112RP pures due to arrive tomorrow. Barring any shipping damage I expect to recieve a superior and unique product, can't wait.

Your sarcasm meter is broken. I have a job. Would working at DPS be fun, sure but it's ok. I personally had better luck talking about my order with Marshall than Tyler, that's all. And I'm married so you gay Scotsman will have to stay over on your side of the ocean
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

My apologies Whyturn. Your post just seemed like you were a bit miffed at not getting the DPS rep post and that you were over compensating and trying real hard to impress him that they should give you a second look.

    112 Smurfs

Got these beasts in today, thanks a ton to schindlerpiste for the hookup and to Marshall for the assistance. This will be my first pair of alpines since '92. No idea what bindings I'll use, leaning Duke but apprehensive about mounting a brick to a feather. Though I haven't skied em', I'm sure these will be worth going into debt over.

    Doooooo it.

Or use jondrums mounting plates for dynafit-duke compatibility.

But with the duke, you can still ride it inbounds, and the setup is still "light". Plus putting the weight in the middle of the ski (midsole being pretty near the center of gravity) means that you will still have a really low swing weight, because your moment of inertia will stay pretty low.

So that means they will still ski awesome, be really light/quick to turn. Plus the stack height of the duke on a fat ski is, IMO, a good thing as it makes it easier to initiate edge.

And damn that blue looks gorgeous, and it would be tits with the white and copper binder

For those of you who are contemplating canceling your preorder due to timing/other restraints, I will gladly take them off your hands pending DPS' go-ahead with change of address/name. Pure - 112RP - Flex2 - any color. I have posted in GearSwap:

Just tell her that they are constantly shedding excess weight. They have begun to realize the topsheet is non-essential. thats AI shit right thur. Engineering at it's finest.

Thanks, these are keepers. I called around until I found something other than yellow. Carmen received blue and green and was kind enough to sell me a pair.

custom colors were tough to come by, it seemed.
Lucky I was able to get the swedish fish edition

Spent the last couple of hours getting cozy with them

    Well done DPS!
No significant work hardening of the edges.
And the bases were quite flat, nice!

Spent some time planing the bases with a ski visions planer with medium stone

    Anticipation builds (mine anyway)....
    Aggressive in my own mind

I was happy to help you out. I hope that when the 2d pressing hits the US shore that I can score a 2d pair for the demo fleet. The demand for this ski is unbelievable. Easily, it is the most desired ski of the season. In fact, I have not witnessed anything like this buying frenzy since the first year of the Volkl Supersport 5*****

The greens have been mounted with Tyrolia demos (SP130), so all you guys coming to the wasatch can take a turn.

has anyone tried mounting these with the dynadukes?

with the locations on the titanal ribs (S.S.) and the wide pattern of the dynadukes, it seems like there's a good possibility of catching one of the ribs with the drill.

    any experience?

    Learn to fuckin ski.
    Stop banging your skis together.
Every sandwich construction raceski for the last 30 years would have chipped if techs hadnt filed the topsheet/sidewall and skiers had been banging them together on the slopes.
