sounds like your shipping went very quick then. Were you able to determine from your delivery note if your skiis came by boat or plane?

Why are all the 112s that I see around here yellow? Yesterday, my blue and green ones arrived. They are beautiful boards. Very excited about receiving the remainder of the order in early Nov.

Because for $1240 I can get two pairs of skis (yellow hybrid 112) and renegades. Well, that's what I did anyways!

I know, who cares, but since you asked. Hey Schindler, are you gonna have 178 for demo? My buddy wants to try them. He likes short skis.
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Yep. Tell him to mention you for discount.

I'll try to post pics later.

Complete fiasco on DPS side to deliver skis to me. I ordered 190 Wailer 112RP Pure April 1:st and now DPS can't deliver until mid December. This would mean not having the skis on my already planned trips in early December and the way I see it the Christmas + New Year skiing would definitely be in jeopardy as well. I am now as dissappointed as I previously was excited to get the skis. I also have a brand new set of Marker Dukes that will need a new pair of skis.

Regardless of what reason DPS claims for not shpping I have waited 7 months since I did my pre-order and paid a large $660 deposit. This is not a confidence inspiring way of doing business and the reason I write/complain in this forum is that I think a word of warning to the community is in order.

I have therefore canceled my order and requested a refund. Hopefully the administration and processing for getting the refund is faster and more efficient than the production and delivery of skis.

You guys who actually received your skis, at which date did you place your pre-orders?

Gzon, were you specifically told by the folks at DPS that your pair wouldn't ship before mid-dec ? If so, I imagine they will have quite a few impatient buyers on their hands...

If the latter then talk to them before canceling

If the former, then bummer, that blows monkey nuggets.

I have, of course, emailed with them about my specific order on 190 Wailer 112RP Pure before canceling.

Yeah same problem here. I ordered some 138 pures in March expecting them to arrive between july and october. Then got e mail putting back to november, now another putting back to december. Means I will also probably miss this season which sucks! I have decided not to cancel the order cos I still want some damn 138's. They apologised and i guess things do go wrong from time to time but I assume it's due to taking much larger pre-orders than expected.

Sadly pre-ordering turned out to be a dumb move.

My money is locked in with DPS all the while the local shop "Alpingaraget" here in Stockholm has DPS Wailers for sale. At least according to some people on the Swedish Freeride forum:

I like the LPs a lot, I think the Dukes are just OK, it took a while to get used to the ramp angle. I only skinned in them once and it took forever to get them back in ski mode due to...ice in the mechanism???

i ordered mine on March the 29th and I just got news that shipment of my wailer 112/190 pure has been put off to mid December. i first got a mail saying that all skis would be sent within October the 27th and than I got a mail from Stephan Drake saying my skis are planned to be shipped mid December....of course not happy about that, specially considering that you need to pay 50% of the price the moment you place the order. anyway, it is just a pair of skis so i would say i am little pissed but, well, not a big deal overall as long as the skis are shipped no later than that promised date. since same thing happened last year with my Lotus, I would suggest the DPS guys offer (more) realistic dates otherwise customers might get a little nervous. anyway, again, no big deal. I'll wait a little longer. as somebody else asked, those who received the skis, when did you place the order?

the moment I finished writing the above post I got another mail from Stephan saying that they made a mistake and that, yes, my skis are being shipped now.....pretty stoked about that, specially considering that here in the dolomites we are getting pounded by pre-winter storms (up to 150 cms of new snow in between today and tomorrow..of course I was anxious to get my skis....to be used with not-used-yet Mobes...).

all skis are shipped according to the order date, and nobody is getting bumped further back in the line. as soon as your skis are in-stock, they get repackaged, shipped, and delivered.

for example, dealer orders were due by march 28, with most stores placing orders in feb, before the pre-season sale even started.

if anyone has specific questions, feel free to pm me. no problem at all, and certainly happy to help.

we do really, truly apologize for this late shipment. it is a bummer for all of us, and realize how big of a bummer it is for the DPS customers. we simply wish to deliver the very best skis that we can, and are doing what is required to do exactly that. we really apologize that some people will get their skis 2 months late. but you certainly will get your skis, they will be awesome, they will be of the best quality, and you will love them.

if anyone needs to cancel their order, that is certainly no problem. DPS does not wish to indefinitely hold onto your money as much as you don't want DPS to. feel free to contact me directly, and we can get your deposit refunded as quickly as possible, and we will be happy to extend the pre-sale price on skis in-stock during the season. just please note that many skis will be sold out.

at this point, skis being shipped today are 2 weeks late. all skis will be delivered within 2 months from now. certainly not ok, and again, all apologies here. really sorry about that. we are striving to get the best skis we know how to make delivered as quickly as is possible.

i certainly encourage all feedback on DPS to get posted... good bad or indifferent. however, if you would like an immediate response, contacting your dps rep (ie. stephan, tyson, phillip, mike or myself) will yield immediate results. i will try to check in this thread and contact folks as i see things being posted, but there are limitations to how effective that is compared to direct contact.

great thanks, and do not hesitate to drop me a line, any time.

There may be a lot of complaints going round about organisation but those 112's swedish edition look unreal. I wish my 138's were coming like that!!

I am not a DPS customer but I too am waiting on pre-paid, pre-ordered skis from another company. I know it sucks not to have your skis on time. Mine are a month late and with no response from customer service, I am getting a bit anxious. I'm sure my skis will show up eventually but if the company told me that my skis would be late because 15% of the production run didn't hit grade "A". I'd be stoked! That's a big commitment by DPS that I am sure most companies don't deliver on.

For those starting to get grumpy- DPS skis are worth waiting a little bit on. In most places you shouldn't be riding your new $1200 skis till after Xmas due to thin cover anyway...

I don't think Marshal mentioned this, but it's worth noting that DPS' requirements for an A-grade ski are very, very high. I was surprised as to the tolerable variance in most wood/fiberglass skis. DPS is setting the bar in terms of only releasing skis that meet very high QC.

I once went through 8 months of waiting and returns with another company due to QC issues and still ended up with a pair of skis whose bases looked like they had been chewed by chipmunks. This was their "A grade."

Can any one answer me if it's possible to send a package to a post office in Canada?

In other words, I might have already left Europe for a season in North America when my skis will be delivered. Is it then possible to just give a local post office as adress and then pick them up there?
