    treadmill lube ?

I can't jog more than 1.5 - 2 miles on the treadmill until it shuts down due to a lack of lubricant on the belt which leads to higher friction and then the sensor kicks in. Nordic Track wants $35. Any suggestions?

while I don't have any idea (nor do I want to you sick fuck) what you intend to do with lube and a treadmill, I would imagine any sort of lube used for similar applications would work just fine. One of my ex's fixed a vacuum cleaner with sex lube. And when she was done vacuuming, she did the fucking dishes.

    ^^^ Lol

    this request is actually legit.

Nordic track customer service said to find a lubricant with least amount of silicone as possible.

Silicone spray should be fine. Available at any hardware store.

Silicone will apparently cause the belt to deteriorate.

Belt dressing should be money, although it may not last that long.

I know a bunch of people that use motor oil as lube on guns. That may actually work well. It will NOT wear out due to any amount of friction you can generate with a treadmill.

You can also get high temp wheel bearing grease for like $5 at walmart.

Any amount of lube will not help the plane to take off though.

belt dressing makes belts not slip, not slip better.

motor oil might work, or lithium grease, but they would smell really bad and probably make the whole room smell like a garage.

i think the only lubes that will not smell really bad are silicone based, but that doesn't help.

Does Nordic Track want $35 for the lube or $35 to come out and lube it for you?

If the $35 is for a full service lube job, maybe they will sell you what they use for less. Or at the very least, maybe they will tell you what it is so you can go buy some.

DDJ is right, belt dressing melts and softens the surface of rubber belts a little, which helps stop slipping and squeaking against a pully

how is silicone gonna deteriorate a synthetic rubber treadmill belt? silicone is inert for all practical purposes

the aerosol solvent in a can of spray silicone may be the issue, but the shit comes in tubes
you could also try Pam veggie oil spray

or clean the damn thing with some tire bright, and lube the roller bearings with some silicone grease

if that doesn't work, disconnect the sensor

or get a motor that's sized appropriately for ur ass

Loosen belt on both sides - enough so that you can fit your hand up under the belt. Grab a block of ski wax - you have some ski wax don't you? (if not use a candle). Rub wax vigorously all over the treadmill deck under the belt. Re-tighten the belt on both sides so that it doesn't slip or move to one side or the other when spinning. Congrats, you just saved yourself $35.
