Big brouhaha over weatherman Pete Bouchard's "9 inch" comment on Channel 7 in Boston - he is saying he wasn't referring to what we all know he was. The church ladies are outraged! You decide..

He should be fired for such a cheezy line. In case anyone didn't get it his eyes checked the camera crew for effect. He'd get slapped in a bar for that bad line..... not sure why it should go any easier on a live (primetime?) broadcast. I'm sure the advertiser's aren't impressed either. What a fucking idiot.

lol how can you be so stupid.![]()
TV weathermen are usually a bit goofy and like to see what they can get away with. That however was just bad and in a large market (#7??) that shit should never fly.
A WX guy I used to work with discovered a small hamlet none of us had heard of called "Gayville" on some new maps that he was using. Yup, we dared him, he did it. They were however, "really getting pounded in gayville", lots of snow that day, so I guess it was ok.
I'm not sure if any viewers caught it, but AFAIK no hate mail ever came in. Half of the control room didn't even catch it until we watched the aircheck.
Shenanigans like this happen a lot more than most people realize.
My buddy Andy works there. Through another friend, this is the explanation I got. "His in studio monitor was cutting him in half or something so he wasn't fitting on the screen because they had the shot blocked for a different weatherman, so he was trying to hint to the producers to fix it, he was completely clueless until someone from a newspaper called him on it".
^^^ right, and gullible isn't in the dictionary.
On air folks (well the less professional ones) love to call out technical problems and mistakes on air. They think they are being funny.
I've seen some comment on shit like IFBs and prompter that NO ONE at home would even realize there was a problem with.
His look to the side is what I am trying to find the truth from, it's either saying "fix this shit", "I made fun of someone else's mistake" or "I think I'm a funny dirty man".
What I can guarantee is that unless this dude is a complete prick that no one wants to talk to, there is no way he didn't find out until the paper said something. I'm sure his balls were being busted about this as soon as they hit break. Someone had to have caught it.
I don't know shit about broadcast stuff. Andy is an editor there for the news packages and has been for 8 years so I think his explanation is the truth.
We have been friends for 13 years and the friend who explained it to me has been his friend for 30 years. He wouldn't lie to us to cover some schmuck weathermans ass.
if only there was a drum set behind the weatherman when he dropped lame jokes about the weather, ba dum Ching !
hard to believe that Pete was clueless about the 9" zing comment but I believe ya , ad.![]()

the way he crouches at 0:13 leads me to believe advres' story. still dumb though.
After watching this guy for a number of years I don't belivee he was refering to his schwanz. His attempts at humor have always been of the awkward, clueless, aw shucks sort. It would be totally out of character for him to be making dick jokes
Damn, we're in a tight spot!
I can totally see what Advres said - the shot was screwed up and the guy was doing squats as if to keep himself in frame prior to the comment. Yeah it was stoopid but you get far worse in a Cialis ad with all the sexual innuendo they have going.
Ppl need to lighten up IMHO and just get over it.

Speaking of weather shtick, what's with all the banter between the anchors and weathermen sort of implying the weatherman is to blame for the weather? You know, the old "so are you going to finally give us some sun, Jim?" I think the weatherman should shoot back with "What's with all the arsons lately? when are you going to quit lighting all those fires Tom?"
