For anyone thinking of coming to UT...

Don't do it. And make all the jokes about me not sticking landings you want, yesterday was my first good pow day away from the east so I'm just stoked I sacked up and hit a couple 30+'s.

"I think people resist freedom because they're afraid of the unknown. But it's ironic....That unknown was once very well known. It's where our souls belong....The only solution is to confront them--confront yourself--with the greatest fear imaginable. Expose yourself to your deepest fear. After that, fear has no power, and fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free." -Jim Morrison

35, maybe 40 due to the previous lack of coverage. known as kong at the bird i guess. first kid to hit it somehow rode out (the landing is FLAT). i ate shit and apparently landed at like 90 degrees to the left.

suggestions on riding out of airs and not beating yourself senseless like a greenhorn from the east coast on their 1st pow day:

going for the stomp? grab your toe-pieces till the last minute. commit.

want to hip-check? grab your knees and turn 45deg to fall line. you will pop right up and ski out.
    go for rob

That's some good advice right there. However, I don't know if it is physically possible to stomp Kong. That is the flattest landing at Snowbird. I don't think I have hit that thing since I was 18 and made of rubber.

Been said before, but nice vid.
    Thanks Shane

Very nice video. You hucked and did not get hurt, so that's something to be happy about.

Keep hucking man. Practice makes perfect. Throws the hands forward in front of you and bring the knees up to your chest. Popping off a little bit as you send it helps bring those knees up and in.

Gets your weight a little farther back, so you land tails first, then go the the hip and ride away.
