This is bluebird. I don't feel like signing out and back in as me. I have heard rumors that the Eagles Nest house is rentable this year. For anyone that has been to Magic it is the house right on the bottom of Lower Magic Carpet, spitting distance from the Red Chair. Rumor has it that is sleeps an absurd amount of people. It would be the perfect house. I would love to ask the owners about renting it, but honestly, do you think we can NOT wreck it in a weekend? Obviously we handle Ullrfest fine and have gathered at others houses without isssue, but before I try to get a house full of maggots into this house I need some peace of mind that it won't be a complete f'ing disaster.

According to the website, $550 per night with 2 night minimum and can "Comfortably sleep 16 adults and 4 children (with spare cots)". Its open on 2/27.

I have a feeling things would be fine. It sounds like they cater to large groups and are bound to expect a certain level of partying to go on. Everyone I've ever met (okay, except that Nihiles, character) is very cool and respectable. Ullrfest has always gone off without a hitch and that's pretty remarkable. It sounds absolutely perfect, too. I'd say book it!

Is the plan to reserve that house for the nights of the 26th/27th since there is a two night minimum stay and those would be party nights? I would support some kind of accommodations incentive for those that come up with the cash and make the reservation, and then a sliding scale for room/bed/floor space. Personally I just need a place to throw down a sleeping pad and bag as I don't expect the SO to accompany me.

Not sure if this is worth another thread but should I be pissed that nobody from Eagles Nest asked permission to use my image?

Normally I don't care when stuff I shoot winds up in the Magic marketing material because its helping the mountain, and I'm no pro photo guy, but this seems different for some reason.

In any event if they were looking for photos of TC, this is a much better shot!

Checked some alternative rentals and many are already booked for the weekend of 2/27 or claim to sleep far less people. This was the closest I came across... says it sleeps 14 and is available the weekend of 2/27 if the website is right. http://www.vrbo.com/272181

The Inn at Magic (right at the base) has suites that sleep four and I've gotten them for just over $100/night in the past (online). Might be worth checking into (I have no idea if I can get to VT that weekend, but for the rest of you it might work out). Nice place.
