So we're right next door, and would love to participate in at least the dinner plans with whatever goes on. Would be happy to make something and bring it over if someone can decide whether we're doing crock pots at the mountain or something else at the house afterward.

Logistically, turning the crock pot on at the house before heading out the door and returning to the house and having it ready is the simplest plan. Transporting it to the mountain earlier or later is quite feasible but I really don't know enough about the facilities to make any guess about having plates, tableware, etc. or access to a stove top, fridge, utensils.

And while I doubt the house could comfortably hold more than 20 people in full dinner mode, the idea of of kicking back, eating and drinking without any concerns about having to go elsewhere is one of the major reasons for putting it together in the first place.

    Any other thoughts?

I'm thinking that we'll grab some meats (burgers/dogs) to grill up on our grill next door. If anyone wants to join us or has special needs (veggie burgers or whatever) you're more than welcome to come use our grill.

Also, sorry if I haven't gotten back to anyone on pm. Last week was a long busy week. I will get back on track today.

    Hey BlueBird,

The tix on Liftopia just went up a bit, are they running out and should we snag them or are the 2 day tix still going up. Sorry to be a pain the ass, just let me know if I should buy right now or wait. Thanks!

Edit to add: hope you're out getting some powder laps and I won't see an answer to this till tonight

About the bagels. I was planning on getting plains and everythings, unless anyone has special preferences? Is 2 dozen going to be enough for the house for both days? Let me know whether to get more, or what flavors you want.

    Thanks!

What should I bring in my crock or other goods GA?

Stoked for this weekend, should be a lot of fun.

Thanks PearlJam. NJFreeskiier... the last I heard Jessie was going to grab some bagels too so it should be okay!
On another note, i'm buggin out in Miami right now catching wind of cancelled international flights tomorrow out of Newark. i'm not flying back until Friday afternoon, but just a heads up... i may get delayed and end up arriving really late Friday or possibly even Saturday morning if my luck sucks thats bad (which it clearly does considering its dumping up north and i'm stuck in FLORIDA, of all places). i'll make it there though... even if i have to hijack a plane with a tube of mascara and nail file

I've gotten several inquiries about space in the house and it seems easier to address them here and maybe work things out.

The current situation is that there is no floor space available *but* there is a room with a full size bed that is not specifically allocated for both Fri and Sat nights. Bluebird and Bumpskier have an alternative arrangement which means they don't need the room Sat.

Here are some of the choices:

Diamondback and Nihiles sister currently have a room with a twin and a trundle. If they wanted to take the full bed instead, that would free up the other spots.

Gman & companion currently have floor space for Sat night. They might be interested in upgrading to a private room and shared bed.

Eug & son similarly have floor space for Fri night and might want to upgrade to a bed.

mtnbiker/boarder and SupreChicken have asked about space but currently, they would have to decide to share that full bed.

Obviously, I am interested in having the bed filled with two people. Right now it's a question of which two.

    Thoughts, offers, solutions?

Honestly, I am much more of a pressure cooker than a slow cooker guy, but I just picked up a nice crock pot and I'm adapting my carnitas recipe to it. I'll have tortillas, cheese, rice (vegetarian), beans (also vegetarian, as in no lard) and some additional garnishes/veges.

I received a subscription to Bon Appetit as a Christmas gift and it turns out they featured slow cooker recipes in the last issue:

Some might tasty ideas right there!

Gman and friend are taking the full room, freeing up two floor spots for Sat night. And Bumpskier and Bluebird don't have to worry about the room.

SupreChicken has opted for one of the Sat night floor spaces. One spot for Sat night is still available, as is the full room for Fri night.

GetAmped Diamondback and I will share a bed we're all about spooning!

But plans are starting to crumble... Nihiles hurt his leg he's out for this weekend I'm waiting to hear back from Diamondback on her flight status hopefully she'll be here in time for tomorrow.

Just in case, anyone going up from the Bergen County area?

Well that blows! I was supposed to be in that carpool, ad the other carpool I could have been in left this morning to ski plattekill today before heading up, so I really missed out. I'm in Bergen, and was talking to diamondback about the carpool all week and all the necessary arrangements. Any idea what's happening with that carpool now?

I just wanted to thank everyone for making the house share work out so well. All of the potential pitfalls were avoided: Diamondback's flight was not cancelled, so she, Not Powder Pussy, and njfreeskier made it up Friday night AND managed to get bagels along the way, Gman and lady friend graciously gave up their room for thin cover and family to have a place for baby to sleep out the party on Saturday night, VT-Freeheel managed to get some sleep one way or another even with all the commotion and then got the day going with the largest skillet of scrambled eggs ever, there was plenty of room for mtnbiker/boarder and SupreChicken, eug and son had a good night and breakfast in the morning (no pepper in those eggs!) before ripping it up, ml242 and bro kept the fire, both flame and liquid, going and brought even MORE bagels, Pearljam09 and buds joined us Saturday night with some tasty grilled meats (and non-meats), Goniff, Early Wood, and Snow Sprite all dropped in to party with us, and I'm sure others came by that I missed.

Turns out that it was not the most JONGtastic thing I've ever done and I look forward to meeting up with all the mags I've met in the ski days ahead.

The house was in great shape when we left and the only item not accounted for is an LG phone charger that is now tucked into my boot bag. If anyone is missing one, send me a PM and I'll get it back to you.

Glad I had a chance to meet some of the east coast mags. Sorry I couldn't catch more runs with everyone, since I'm gonna be out in utah during my anniversary I figured I owed it to my gf to ski with her. loved the running joke about the Catskills.
