Smuggs would be cool. Are there some good places to stay?

Smuggs has Sterling Ridge log cabins down the street, the condos in the village and a bunck of other little places to stay. High Anxiety crew would be happy to show some mags around and maybe bust out the camrera for some photo slutting. Smuggs has ripping in bounds, easy slackcountry and plenty of options for earning turns in ay kind of terrain you want..condition permitting.

I voted for Smuggs. Fantastic terrain on Madonna, readily available 2 for 1 lift coupons. However, if it had been on the poll, first choice would have been Plattekill.

I voted for Smuggs too. The terrain looks great and it would be great to check out a new area.

can't we rent Plattekill midweek? With enough advance notice that could be a ton of fun.

$2500.00 for up to 250 riders, $10.00 each additional.

If we just wanted the double side, it would cost significantly less, I heard like $800 I think.

    Anyway, I agree with this:

I am not saying that Magic can't do it, but anyone who attended Ullrfest knows that EC Mags can throw and will show support for a good party.

We have a lot of weight to throw around in our numbers and we should leverage that into a really kickass time somewhere.

Also, I have edited the initial posting with some of BlueBirds and other suggestions and put up some possible dates, and turned down the ranting a bit. please discuss.

Renting P-Kill midweek would be sweet if it was in advance and people could get out of work. Not sure if this would be of any use, but I've got a couch 2.5 hours north if mags in transit need a place to crash.

Other than that option, I'm voting Magic cause I still haven't made it there yet, (tried for the summit last year, but had some shit come up) and really really want/need an excuse to go.

I'm also voting for one of the March weekends cause I gots expensive Big East (SU v NOVA) and outdoor AHL tickets in February.

Not to derail the original summit thread here, but:

    50 Mags rent P-Kill at $2500 a day= $50 each

Given sufficient notice on this, I'm totally in. Mini summit anyone???

Do it at Magic again this year. They're teetering and you may never have another chance. The support may spark another spark.

it would be a good opportunity to get some new people to check the place out and have a great time...and then get 'em to pony up for a share in gonnif's den after a few rounds

I called Magic View Inn and they said if we got 5 rooms the last weekend of february or the first weekend of march, it would be $95 a room for triple occupancy.

March is traditionally a good snow month.
Besides, everyone can stay at DoWork's. :-)

I think someone suggested earlier that it gets tied into the 2/27... that would be an awesome weekend then.

    Thumbs up

I think having it 2/27 @ magic during the extreme comp would be the win!

I'm diggin tent city and I'd be happy to try my hand in lining up a solid band (best friend opened for Steve Miller in November and has regular Zep cover gigs across PA, NJ and NY). There's my vote, despite a weak post count Plus, Plattekill's mid-week stipulation will likely hurt attendance.

uuuhhhh, let me check on tent city. That might a little much in the winter. Summer/fall for volunteer weekends is one thing, when we need to welcome the gp it is another.

I voted for Burke but what EW wrote breaks my heart. Simply because it could be very true.

Hey what happened to Train07 I thought that dude was back?

That would be me. I was thinking the summit needs to get people out to new places. Because of last years summit, I went to Magic.

Magic IS so perfect for this event, though... it's hard to think of a better place. I would love to see it at Sugarbush (since it's 20 mins away and I have a pass), but making it work as easily might be a challenge. VT-F sounds like he's got a handle on things and I would certainly do whatever to help, but you just can't beat the Magic central location, set-up, price and terrain. The exposure here, is what drew me to it.

Lastly, Fran nails it with his Magic needs maggots now, statement. Last weekend in Feb. works for me, too.

However, one plus for Sugarbush is the ban on country music and Allen knows most of the cops...

Maybe it won't be true. I forgot how much fun Magic is. I'm not gonna lie and say I've never seen Magic suck or that I don't have my opinions of when it should be skied, but that can be said of any mountain.

Train07 and EW are the same inner guy. They've never varied. I think EW is a happier name, pretty silly but, whatever, I can only use one.
