Glad to see you're out there milking it the whole month of Jan and showing up in town with raccoon eyes while everyone else is wondering WTF is wrong with your artificial tan![]()

02-02-2010: time to check out Kyle Canyon
heading up Big Falls chute:
looks like this slide path was from the middle january storms. wind loaded cliffs above looked to be the culprit
Big Falls, will be climbing the snow covered cliff band to the left
dug a pit to test stability, everything had settled nicely and i get ready to climb this
top o the waterfall
further up the chute
heading up drainage lookers left
opens up to this
had no time to go further so this is what i skied
and this, the way to get down avoiding the boot ladder i used to get up:
here's the video of the run:
Way to shred cdlv. That was an awesome run!
storms keep slamming, went to the resort today and skied with IE:

lee shoulder, went to see what the new storms did to the snowpack with my splitboarder buddy Joe :
skintack stoke( nice to have someone to help break trail for a change)
soft slab slide from Saturday, crown was about 10 inches and broke at the differentiating layer between friday and saturdays snowfall.
view up slide path:
so i dug a pit before we went up. saturday's weak bond layer had compressed with sunday's new snow and natural settlement so up we go

Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

awesome day yesterday
Missed the 14 inch storm the day before, but cold temps and low winds kept the snow fantastic. Low h2o content fluff. Decided to go for multiple laps on Dolomite over a long tour as people in the group had to leave by 12:30..

CDLV this is an awesome thread!
I have been asking people for a couple of years, if there is any info on backcountry sking around here and have done some research ,but allways come up empty. You are definately showing the way.
I have been riding My new hellbents in the trees on the dumpage days. I sure do love them wide boards.
My Buddy took his cat and a couple of us up the road over in deer creek yesterday and skiied a couple of areas. The snow was top crusty and fast and wore us out fast. Good experiance tho.
I was checking out west bowl to day with the binoc's and could see tracks out there. Have You been out in there yet?
not my tracks in west bowl, someone went up on thursday while we were doing dolomite, someone also did hidden. I figured it was luke or one of the patrollers.
Nice on the cat ,where do you guys go up, the road to that house on the middle ridge below the mummy?
heading up tomorrow to try to find some north facing spots that hold good snow.

Hey this is a great thread!
This thread really is great. I never knew the Spring's had decent skiing. I will be in the area for the month of March. I hope there is still snow.
sick. I will have to hit you up for some beta in a couple weeks.
Yes we went up the first road all the way up past the cabin. there is alot of nice snow on the north side. real deep!
We went of on the south side the first time. snow had a crust layer on top not so good, but the runs are nice.
Sunday and Monday We did the north side , and the snow was soooo good!
here are a few pics.
This was our decent on Sunday, all the way to the high way.
