    tr: Spring Range NV 2010

gonna steal an idea from few others on here and just do one season long thread to dump local trip reports on it
    01/14/10
first day in Spring back country of the season, 5 inches of fresh overnight on top of old crusty 25-35 inch base:
dawn breaking on Mummy Mt, these lines should be good to go next week

i love el nino, 10 inches of smooth fast snow over the last 2 days, and storm two is just hitting now. went for a few hikes today stayed to mellower lines as there was cracking on steeper stuff:

great day, and these storms are filling in the lines nicely

this little aspect skied great so i just kept lapping it

KC, I'd say after this week's stormtrain the snowpack should be good for the rest of the season. Was checking out some of the Mummy lines this morning and they are just about filled in on the cliff bands.

thinking of doing the burn area on willow this weekend.
23 more inches overnight on top of the 44 inches the last week = NUKE

went up for the last two hours @ lvssr yesterday with the new gopro hd:
(raw no edit, turn down yr volume unless you like the sound of snow hitting the cam housing)

hardest i have ever seen it snow here. record was set yesterday for lowest recorded barometric pressure reading. and it's still snowing up there.

Nice, way to shred the trees. Bet that jacket smells pretty piney...

Whats up with the skinny sticks tho? Don't you know this is TGR, where we ski only 190+ cm, and 120 underfoot?

Called in sick today! Hope the boss was not looking at the web cam. Lee was off the the hook today! Man We got sooooo much snow this week! Finally got the chance to try out My new Hellbents. The trees were so goooood! The bents are like having snowboards mounted on your feet, they just float thru every thing!
Ill post some pics later ,if You do not mind it in your thread.

Great vidy! that tree run between yellow chair and slot are the bomb!
I went up on Saturday and today. The lines were a pain in the ass yesterday,no orginization. Today was a little better. Friday was off the hook.
I have seen You there before. I hang out with Brad childress alot, not sure if You know him. Seems like I have seen You talking to him before. Great thread!

went back up today as the weekend crowds disappeared, did some steeper lines I have been eying for a while. snow staying nice in shaded aspects, sun is baking the clearings and southern facing stuff.
(re-edited this vid, i like the new edit better)

Nice C!!!! That's probably the most epic conditions ever been videographed at LVSSR. You heading up to the blue lake after that stuff melts out down there?

CD, Those are some sick videos you put up. I'm from Boise, ID but a student at UNLV. I brought my tele setup down with me and really wanna get some backcountry turns in. I hit up the resort a week ago and really not a bad lil spot for only an hour away from Vegas.

I'm relatively new to Tele and only got out a few times up in Idaho over the break. You have any suggestions on an area thats nothing too wild and low avalanche danger? I don't really care about the approach, more workout the better.
