Pat would do well to think a little about how Haiti came to be so impoverished and just exactly why so many ppl are living in squalor in and around Port-au-Prince.

Could this Devil with whom Haiti made a pact be responsible for years and years of bad policy setting, puppet governments and the need for cheap labor? Nah.....couldn't possibly......

I think you answered yourself nicely. Pat is not capable of intelligent thought.

What a complete piece of shit, Limpy as well.

Just a matter of time before Robertson goes the way of Ted Haggard.

Well, it's gonna be awful hard for anybody else to win Tactless Moron Douchebag Of The Century after that little nugget of wisdom from Pat.

I wonder how he explains all the altarboy molestation that's come to the surface the past few decades.

Since alter boys are Catholic, I am sure Pat thinks they and the priests sold their souls to the devil long, long ago.

Pat is still the "Tactless Moron Douchebag of the Century."

Yeah, the radio. He has been on it talking three hours a day, five days a week, for the last 20 years. He is not hard to find, and it's not like he keeps his thoughts to himself or anything. The fact that people like Benny are still running to websites to find out what he said has turned into a "useful idiot" filter. Whenever I see someone claiming Limbaugh is a racist I make a mental note that that person is a useful idiot for people with whom I politically disagree. It's an easy way to weed out the people who think for themselves from the mouth pieces of the left wing attack machine. There is plenty to criticize Limbaugh over, but being racist isn't one of them.

I read the quotes from him in the links you provide and there is no indication there that he does not actually believe this bat-shit crazy, painfully influential, damaging, unsupported, fucked-up stuff. If he doesn't believe it, and you can show me where he says he doesn't believe it, okay. But I'm not seeing any indication of that.

That is because the link I provided is to a site of some of the people who are being played by Limbaugh due to their own depravity and disregard for the truth. Try listening to the show for a week or two, or don't. If you do then you won't have to rely on other people to tell you what he believes. I would think if you care to know what he believes it would be best to listen to him talk rather than listening to someone else talking about him.

Actually, here you go. A quick google search turned up this. It's a transcript from Limbaugh's show today.

CALLER: Calm down. I planned on it, but actually I... Keep denying that, but what is this you were saying about our president of the United States trying to just basically establish credibility in the black community among white (sic) and dark-skinned African-Americans? And why do you, like... After saying that, why would you call yourself a patriot?

RUSH: All right. Now, this is funny. This was our Media Tweak of the Day yesterday, April. You know, what we do here on this program is, purposely, play the media like violin, like a Stradivarius. And I love tweaking them. I love irritating them, and I love upsetting them and all you do is take words uttered by liberals and apply them to current events. It was Harry Reid who looked at Obama and said he's a "light-skinned" guy that "doesn't speak in a Negro dialect."

This kind of thing has been going on for a while and the guys like Benny mindlessly repeat whatever they are told as long as it fits the narritive they have been fed, never bothering to check it out for themselves. Limbaugh broadcasts to hundreds of millions of people every day, 15 hours a week, has been doing it for 20 years and the left still can't get it right. They do this to Limbaugh, they do it to the Tea Party groups, they did it to Bush, they did it to McCain during the campaign, they did/do it to Palin and anyone else with whom they disagree. Then people like Benny and Mock Vomit and Dexter mindlessly believe it and run around repeating it while accusing those of us on the right of repeating talking points. Bwhahahaha!!! It's just too much!

That would require that someone actually listen to his show.

In other news there's this thing called science which has rendered religion obsolete. Some people just have no empathy I guess.

Rubicon is completely missing that for much of the population Limbaugh's serious idiotic hyperbole is indistinguishable from what Limbaugh considers joking idiotic hyperbole.

There is a difference between 'joking idiotic hyperbole' and racism. If you can't tell the difference, you have bigger problems than worrying what some guy on the radio is saying.

That was sort of his point, I think. Perhaps you and Hugh can tell the difference but the window-lickers who comprise much of Limbaugh's listening audience can't.

I don't listen to him because he isn't interesting, not because he is a racist.

Actually, I'm not really interested in spending any time listening to the show. I've heard clips of it, and I really can't stand the guy, because he sounds like an unintelligent, ill-informed asshole, and I can't take him for more than a few minutes. But I'm willing to consider your claim that he says things for effect even when he doesn't believe them. I would find that wildly unlikely and indefensibly irresponsible (given the influence that he has) but I'll at least consider that it might be true. However, the quote you provide from the transcript doesn't really prove anything. He admits he likes to annoy or irritate the 'left', but he never says he doesn't believe what he says. It is certainly possible to attempt to irritate someone while still expressing honestly held opinions. If you can provide a quote proving that he doesn't believe that crazy bullshit, I'm still listening to you. But I'm not going to spend any time listening to the guy to find that out. Life's too short, ya know?

Ya, I know. Which is why I am not going to spend any time trying to convince you that some guy on the radio holds certain beliefs. I showed that that particular comment was said with the purpose of tweaking the left wing media, which means he is taking the words that democrats have said and repeating them, knowing that the left wing media will express outrage...which they normally do. It shows the double standard that exists for people on the right(they express outrage over him saying these things but not over the prominent liberal who said them first), but AFAIK he doesn't give a disclaimer, clearly stating that he does not actually believe what he is about to say. So, what you ask for doesn't exist in the language you seem to desire. You just have to use your judgment, cest la vive.

I love the "Don't take anything I say literally" fallback people use. Now, while you shouldn't take anything I say literally, it seems to be pretty common from the right wing when they get busted for being douche nozzles for the umpteenth time.

Ask any minority how funny they think "joking, idiotic, racial hyperbole" is. In this day and age, and on a nationally syndicated radio show, listened to by millions who actually believe what he says, there is no place for his hyperbole.

Rube, you are the one being played by Rush.

Anyone know how much a douchebag like Pat Robertson pulls in during a year? I mean WTF is the 700 Club anyway? Why not the 500 or 151 club?

I'm sure Pat is working an angle to get rich off the misery of Haiti right now.

Limbaugh's dark skinned call screener who does have a negro dialect when he wants one, seems to think it's all pretty funny. Maybe it's just some minorities who don't find it funny?

That is a favorite line isn't it? All the dumb lemmings who don't know any better being led by the evil manipulator. You guys should find a new schtick, this one is played.

Actually, he does believe that comment. Now, whether you guys want to debate it's racist nature, I guess thats up to you.

    http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/dai...112.guest.html

RUSH: No, I'm not evading it at all. If I said it I meant to say it, and I do believe that everything is political to this president. Everything this president sees is a political opportunity, including Haiti, and he will use it to burnish his credentials with minorities in this country and around the world, and to accuse Republicans of having no compassion. I went further than that even. I'll have to tell you what else I said after the break if you want to hold on.
I spent two weeks in AK listening to Rush this past summer because it was the only radio station I could get. It was interesting, and pretty much reinforced my opinion of him being an attention whoring blow hard.

Rush=1/2 in jest, 1/1 in earnest
and the TeaBaggers lap it up

i get to listen to him in snippets in the grocery store, last was a couple days before the Election of 2008, and the spitting growling vituperation was stomach turning
no wonder the intellectual proletariat is up in arms and waving teabags with that guy telling them how to think...

as for Pat: the religious mind sees the hand of god in everything; this is but one example of how supernaturalism cripples and atrophies the mind

when you have The Omnianswer, there's no need to actually think rationally

    Pat Robertson:
"Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it," he said. "They were under the heel of the French ... and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, 'We will serve you if you'll get us free from the French.'

"True story. And the devil said, 'OK, it's a deal,'" Robertson said.

First of all, it is a true story that the devil said "ok, it's a deal"? Were you there Pat? Even if you were (he does look a couple hundred years old) how do you know it was really the devil? Not just a friend dressed up as the devil? Do you ever do that? Dress up as the devil, and tell a friend to kill their entire family? They think "geez, I have to do it because it is the devil". Then after they have slaughtered their entire family you pull off your mask and say, hey Pat, it is me, John. I really got you good didn't I!!

Actually, the outrage was not about the use of words about skin. It was about his claim that Obama's intent in sending aid to Haiti was purely to gain political points with certain voting groups. Clearly if Obama did nothing, guy's like Limbaugh would critique him, and if he sends aid, they critique that too. Limbaugh is apparently an agenda driven blowhard.

In fact, you didn't 'show' anything, and in fact I see Limbaugh has restated that particular belief (about the 'politicization' of aid) again, since. I think he is full of shit. I'm sure its tempting to dismiss his comments so one does not have to acknowledge what a complete quack he is.
