I have a 2005 Legacy GT LTD with a 5 speed - garnet red with tan leather. Considering they only made 57 of them that year, it took me a while to find the color combination with a manual.

I have a Cobb AccessPort that I will use to dial back the power output in the winter to make the car a bit more user friendly when the roads are at their worst and the resorts at their best.

I know they're all-wheel drive and all that, but I still run full snows on both cars. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the manual again and I highly recommend getting a turbo.

A friend of mine has an automatic LGT LTD and I have to say his car is that much better when it's slippery out due to the torque split allowed by the diffs with the automatic. For that matter, my 2000 Outback with an automatic is much more forgiving when it's slick, but I still prefer the stick.

I can't say as I've ever driven the 6 cylinder, so I've got nothing to add where they're concerned.

I could see long term problems if you start the car below zero, hop in and go right into boost, but you shouldn't do that anyway.
