Gonna head up now, may not get access to my condo. Forecast had a chance of rain tonight(doubtful) and warm up by Saturday with another chance of rain. Stay safe to everyone traveling. Bad weather up there has a way of becoming deadly real fast.

Tline and WG will most likely be the best picks.

Will be off line unless power comes back. 304 940-0079

MC2 and MadPat are about to drop in for their first run. Said the skin up was ~ 2 hours. First skin of the season + shitty route = long time.

Balls. Stuck in Ohio, with a key to a place at snowshoe only 6 hours away. And no ski gear. You all have fun.

Sort-of getting a call from ML now. Said he drove through the mtns to get there. Tons of snow around 3000ft. Trees down everywhere. Had trouble finding gas TWICE now.

for everyone planning on heading down, stay in the lowlands as much as possible. Make sure you get gas in PA because you're pretty much fucked trying to get some in WV. No power.]

EDIT Just got word that he and Moehgul are there.

Decided to just go for it - left PA at 1:30 with a non-mag buddy and got to Timberline around 7. Roads were unobstructed but very slick in parts. Skinned three laps and had to hit the road before noon to make it back by 5. 4 feet easily in spots, even the trees are skiable. Absolutely worth the white knuckle driving. Saw MadPat's car in the lot, we must have been going opposite directions on the last lap. I think I also passed the VT crew coming up WV-93. Sorry I didn't get to meet up with anyone this time (and for my buddy's postholing on my already shitty track).

Any weather updates? How's the snow holding up? Is it staying cold enough up high?

I'm aiming for a Friday afternoon departure from DC, and I'll be skiing it happily even if it has started getting manky. Green Subaru Outback, two really disgusting dogs, my wife and I will be skinning on either really heavy Motherships and Kikus or our tele setups.

Granted we left at noonish, but the flakes were still coming down fast and fluffy and it was COLD up top. On the way down the mountain roads there seemed to be some sleet action, but I think there will be plenty of goods to be had this weekend regardless. Bummed I couldn't stay.

Also someone bring the guy at the lodge some cigarettes. That was his first question to us when we pulled in at 7 am.

FKNA awesome. Keep up the play by play, this is some fun reading from sunny CO where the WROD warm up laps are about to start for my season. I love how mags get after it wherever it is falling. If I can't ski it, it is awesome to see others get some!

    You go lads!
Although you're making me feel like an inadequate slouch here with snow in the mountains and glacier not that far away, work sucks.
    Have fun!

Up early at the hotel in Cumberland MD with Jonathan S. Heading to Timberline now - will try to post conditions later, if cell service allows. NWS had chance of freezing drizzle... We shall see.

ID:	124418, still snowing this AM, snow quality in the styro range, no crust. Hot breakfast at 8AM. White grass by 9AM. So much untracked and fresh. Drank 2 charities of moonshine with Chip. Too much stoke for so few maggots. Send help.

Skied top to bottom at Tline yesterday, seriously deep, no bottoming. ML did some photo slutting for future posting. $20/nite gets you a single room, 3 hot meals, off and on lukewarm water courtesy of FEMA. We discovered the secret to cheap skiing. More to come later. Signing off from a dark n cold hotel room in my sleepin bag. Did I mention that its deep, soft, and still putting out at 6am?
