    Whisky and apple cider= awesome

Was looking to unwind with a nice drink tonight, but all i had was some shitty seagrams whisky someone left behind after my Halloween party. Definitely not a on-the-rocks-type whisky, and I had no ginger ale or coke to mix with, so on a whim i mixed with some apple cider I had in the fridge. This shit is delicious, and i can't tell there's any alcohol in it. Why haven't I thought of this before???

We made "stone fences" for our halloween pre-game party and they came out great.

No hot mulled cider and whiskey is amazing. I work on a farm in the fall and have to handle the "pumpkin tent" - meaning weigh pumpkins for families who drive out to butt-fuck no where so they can have the pleasure of picking a pumpkin from a mud field and drag their crying kids over to me so they can argue about the price of pumpkins these days. Nothing like some hot apple cider and whiskey in a paper cup that your boss slipped to you to make bitchy parents disappear into a blur.
Take it easy ... if it's easy take it twice.

Is it any surprise that whiskey tastes good with ANYTHING? It's the whiskey awesomeness that makes anything good. You folks are not true believers in gods juice!

Is it also any surprise that I don't remember much of last nights TGR premiere shenanigans? fuck me...

    Have you ever tried Tuaca?

I had a drink up at Stevens Pass called a "Hot Apple Cider" that was very tasty - probably could have been improved upon with a whiskey floater.

I think the Industry standard is tuaca, hot cider, cinnamon stick, and whipped cream being called a "hot apple pie," very popular with the cougars that hit up the Ice Bar last winter.

LOL! Well...way back then, when I had the drink (and yes I meant to say "pie" but had cider on the mind) I was too young to qualify as a "cougar". As a matter of fact I would venture to guess that back in those days the term wasn't even a blip in anyone's mind.

Definitely a winner. Never would have thought of tequila and apple cider, though. Will have to try that...

So tonight started of with me and the GF drinking Winter Warmer, watching ski movies, playing darts, doing shots of Jager and peppermint schnapps and few games of rummy, in other words, it kicked ass.
A few drinks in, it turned into a weird night of almost fighting and wicked emo-ness, fuck that sucked. After she went to bed, I went for a spin around the neighborhood on the long board and came back in looking for something much stronger to drink.

Remembered this thread, saw the gallon of cider in the fridge and the bottle of Russle;s Reserve on the counter. Holy fucking shit, thats what UI needed. Sprinkled on some cinammon, served it over ice in my Long Trail mug.
God damn am, I sort of happy and drunk.. It needed the cinamon to realy work though. I am thinking mulling it with some cloves too would be $$, but don't have the patience for that right now. Flavoer and drunk is where its at, and this does it.

As an ambassador for the Maker's Mark distillery, please buy yourself a bottle and enjoy the following!

    Maker’s Mark Mulled Cider:

    1 c. Maker’s Mark
    4 c. apple cider
    1 sliced lemon
    6 cloves
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
    2 cinnamon sticks

Combine Maker’s Mark and cider. Add the sliced lemon with rind, cloves, allspice and sticks of cinnamon. Heat to boiling and serve. This recipe makes enough for eight good friends.

    Oh hell yes.

I've had cider and JD before, mainly on bc trips but it's been becoming quite habitual to have some Crown and cider at the old roomie's place, recently
