    Subaru Impreza tire size

I know the stock size is 205/60/15 but can get a set of 205/70/15's for super cheap, will it work? Does anybody have experience with a taller tire. I put one on the front and it doesn't appear to rub when turning but I am worried about the lack of clearance. It went from 4" down to about 2". The big question is will this mess up my car?

It's going to make your car slower by effectively changing the gear ratio. You'll get better MPG though.

Your speedo and odometer will be off too.

I personally wouldn't go with those tires.

when you say it doesn't appear to rub, did you actually drive the car? I would try a slightly agressive turn where the weight of the car shifts forward. Also, was the car loaded with the usual number of passengers?

I just did the quick test with one tire so as not to have to switch out all four and didn't drive it and no gear or people in the car. I was hoping somebody had tried it and gotten it to work. Looks like I need to just kick down for new tires in the right size.

6.5% off. You will be going 63.6 and the speedo will show 60.

I assume you're buying a set of four. Definitely DO NOT test drive a Subaru with one of the new tires on it. They need to all be the same running diameter so as to not wear out your differential. As for the clearance, boy that sounds tight. You could use a tool on Tirerack to see if they'll fit. Probably not.
