    Gore-tex delam? Gore-tex guarantee?

My Norrona Lofoten bibs are delamming around the seams. Bubbles everywhere. I'd gotten them directly from Norrona a few years ago, they told me to contact Gore and let them know what they said.

So I did...just waiting for a response. Anybody had any experience dealing w/ Gore-tex on this kind of issue? Did they come through for you? What did they do? Anything I need a heads up on?

I thought the only reason to pay narrona inflated euros was because they would have a great warranty service......screw them. i have had both MARMOT AND NORTH FACE DO MUCH BETTER

I have returned 2 different Gore-tex items (drytop and jacket)

    They replaced them both.

I went directly to Gore-tex both times with no issues.

To me that's the only reason to pay the price for goretex

Gore has done really well for us and for a couple people we know... Basically they set us up with "Whatever similar piece you want, as long as it is made with Gore Tex..." So when Sierra Designs stopped using GT, and my GF's jacket started to give out, she basically got a free upgrade to an Arc'teryx shell... So yes, I'd say they rock.

Love the bibs, just want them to keep me dry. Shipping's a mint, so I get it. You can say the same thing about the ridiculous cost of gore-tex.

I figured I'd see what Gore's response was and how they took care of other similar situations before complaining about Norrona's response. Norrona's always been great in my dealings w/ them....

Cool. We'll see how that pans out. Only bummer is they don't make grass green anymore... Not sure I'm digging the blue or yellow.

    yes
    1) contact Gore warranty (email on gore website) for information/RMA
    2) send in piece for verification of flaw
    3) they replace it with whatever you want from whoever you want (as long as it's Goretex)

one of the big reasons to pay the uber inflated $$$ for Gore clothing. The newer lighterweight Goretex fabrics seem to have much bigger problems with delams. Irritating.

I'm sending them in, and I'm reasonably optimistic.

The address is on blueball road. I thought this was hilarious - but the gore-tex rep didn't see the humor. Oh well.

Seam delam is the problem of the garment manufactuer, not GTex, who just makes the membrane. It depends on the warranty. GTex might give you some love, but it's Norrona who should be handling this.

Gore came through. I've got a new pair of Lofoten bibs on the way. Probably wouldn't have been able to get the Norronas again if we didn't have a US distributor. And I'm pretty sure, though this may give them too much credit, that Norrona would have picked it up if Gore didn't give me love. And sweet pants.

So, Gore, BC.com, and Norrona -->
