Buzz, you failed Your linky is for a bit farther north...

I have looked at the NWS and it says snow, but what do people think. Is this like a 2-4in / day kinda event, or more like the 12" last night for the next few days?

    Forecast:
    1. 6-10 from 5pm today to 5-pm (mst wed) as the second short wave trough is nosed along by a strong jet.
    2. 4-8 thursday as another short wave moves in just ahead of the longwave trough pushing into cali.
    3. Long duration event friday into sun. early am as long wave trough moves over head and splits into two lows. One heading n/ne into ID and one heading E through so. UT. This will spread moist unstable air with substantial lifting into the entire wasatch range. Couple that with a flow turning n/nw at 700mb driving air into the range resulting in orographic lifting and you have a rather significant event. High res qpf output provides 1-2 feet tops for the fri-sun. event.
Danger however will exist as there will be high winds, variable temps, graupel and mixed layers of snow density....
(at least that's the forecast now).

We meadowskipped around the PC ridgeline today. The clouds blew out around noon, revealing 10+ soft slab slides on E and N aspects. Most were only 30 or 40 feet wide and appeared to not have gone deeper than the storm snow. From a distance we noticed a crown line running the below the diagonal cliff band on High Duches, easily a few hundred feet wide, along with a few other smaller pockets with rider tracks coming out of the debris.

Lots of 25-30degree fun for us today.

Yeah, I took a pic of an 8"X40-50' crown on the north side of the 9s, very close to Magic Lines. If I can figure out the Blackberry, I'll post it here.
Good seeing you and other maggots, today.

Porter Fork Bobsled is in prime shape right now. Bart had his first ski day today.

    He takes after his predecessor.

Observation #1:Pleasant morning with intermittent heavy snowfall this morning. You could still feel the old bottom a bit, but not much. The snow was skiing fast and nice in the meadows.

Observation #2:I can't wait until the dog and pony show otherwise known as the Outdoor Retailer Felatio Festival is over so we can get our mountains back.

OR AND Sundance...I guess that's why my tickets were all jacked up for this weekend.
If you see a jackass falling on his tele gear with a blonde girl looking at him like he's an idiot somewhere in LCC ask for change. That'd be me.

I thought the momentum was to boycott Utah and Sundance because us Utards don't like homos and the diseases they spread?

Can't they live up to their promises?
