    Google Wave

I searched, but couldn't find any posts about it. Is there anyone who might have an extra invite for Google Wave they would like to share?

I'll send you one if I get mine, I was sent a invite last week and have to see it.

FWIW, none of the invites I sent have been received yet. I have no idea when they'll show up, I'm as eager as you are to try it out - until somebody I know is on it, it's kind of pointless.

I did see an article about public waves, I'll have to do that until friends get their invites.

To answer the original question, I don't have any invites to spare, sorry.

Liking the way they have put the full version up in one piece. No 10 minute restriction for GooTube!

    Looks like a good development.
If you are getting rad but there is no one to see you. Are you really getting rad at all?

Ok I got my invite but they did not give me any to send out? Who has wave and wants to add me as a contact?

The wiki says people who were invited by others won't have invites to share.

Interesting concept, will be curious how folks like it.
I'm still dragging my feet on Google Voice. Got an invite by signing up, but as it doesn't work with the iPhone [does it??] not sure how much if any i'll use it...

That is cool! How do you get invites to begin with? If there are any invites laying around that you don't want I'd be stoked to try it.

it's boring: just one more way to waste your time with chat-like snippets of useless text. only, the difference between this and IRC is that this has icons. big deal.

gmail took off because you didn't have to have all your friends in it just to use it. orkut failed because you did. this is more reminiscent of orkut.

(yes, i'm in. it got boring after the first week because we're the same 10 people in the same waves).

    YMMV, naturally.

    Tye,

Google Voice can be used with pretty much any phone- I am not sure what you mean by does not work with an iPhone. It is a telephone number that has a bunch of options to it. Voice mail is included (along with a email that you have a message which could go to your iphone if you have email going through it.) It also can be used and set up to call forward to any number of telephone numbers. So you can give out your Google Voice number as an example and have people call that number instead of your cell. If you forward the Google voice then it will ring say your work phone (during the day) and then change the forward to your cell or home number at night and weekends as some of the things you can do. If you call into your Google Voice number then you can then call out and connect to others- ie free long distance calls to the US if you want to use it for that (and the caller id shows the Google Voice number). Plenty of options with it and all for free at least right now. Biggest issues I see are: possbily no local numbers available in some areas, the Google privacy discussions of Google knowing everything about you and domination of the world, and not being able to port existing numbers to it or maybe loosing the number if you elect to stop the service, they may at some point open up a fee based offering too, so it could be at some future date no longer for free.

Is there a way to search for people in Google wave?

I am in, but I don't have any invites. Initial thoughts, it's more of a concept car, than a real product. I am still kicking the tires so to speak, but so far it's not that usable, but pretty cool in some ways none the less.

Another comment, it's seriously buggie for a Google product. All kinds of weird quirky behavior with it.

I though they built in a frame that opens a chorme browser in IE, no? Which btw must be so embarrassing to the IE team at Microsoft.

A collaboration tool you need an invite from someone you don't really know to use. Genius

What he means is pretty simple - you need to have a jailbroken iPhone to use the Google Voice app on your iPhone for free international SMS and cheap phone calls.
