Where can I sell used surveying equipment??

...other than eBay?? I have a Wild T2 theodolite and a Topcon DTS-701 total station. Both have been sitting in our storage room at work and we don't have anyone who surveys, so they need to go. Anyone have a BB or other place it would be good to post these up for sale. Thanks

Talk to someone who works with a bunch of surveyors? Someone like me? PM on it's way.

Write your own porn script that involves a surveying crew, a whip cream factory operated by a bunch of asian college-exchange babes and a land dispute involving a half-way house on the adjacent property.

Sell said script, along with the requisite surveying equipment, to a porn producer.

Buy me some beer when we eventually meet.

    Done.

The Wild T2 theodolite would make a good museum piece or look good in my office.

I thought I would be the only one here old enough to have actually operated one. Too bad the top of the can isn't clear it would look good in someone's office.

Check this link out for a history of Wild Theodolites, pretty cool.

When I was in college they made us turn angles with the T2, but compared to something like the Trimble S6 robotic total station with TSC2 Data collector is very productive machine for one person.

The only problem with a robotic total station, sometime it has a mind of its own. One day, my instrument started to follow the reflectors on a passing school bus instead of the rod.

    "R2T2"

i have a K&E 1-minute transit, and a Gurley 20" mountain transit, which requires a magnifying glass to read the vernier on an 8.5" circle

i also have TM1A (1/10 second directional theodolite)

the transits look a lot better in my office

i once pawned my crew's T-2, along with the rest of our gear (except the truck), because my employer was 6 weeks behind on our per diem

we really didn't need it to buy gas and food, but it broke that bastard of suckin eggs when i told him we were leaving the job, and had just hocked the instruments to buy gas to get us home

Not so much as a museum piece, but it would look cool on my mantle. I might even take it out into the field once in a while. How much?

And I can't imagine any firm now using such an instrument, especially with how much easier/faster digital theodolites are for the price.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Definitely more responses than I anticipated. Thanks to all. I'm leaning towrads Viva's recommendation, if he doesn't mind me using his plot....

Pricing is somewhat of a conundrum. Giving my relative little knowledge of these I don't know what a fair price would be.

I'm seeing T2s on eBay for $1000 to $1500, and the DTS-701 somewhere in the $2500-$3500 range. But those are big ranges. I'd like to get these out of here, but I'd like them to be fairly priced for everyone.

Just need some help figuring that out.
