    Ray-Ban sunglasses problem

I've had a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses (plastic frames with polarized lenses) for just over a year and have recently noticed some "lines" forming at the edges of the lenses. The lines are very small (<5mm long), parallel (spaced <1mm apart) and all oriented horizontally if you are wearing the glasses.

Has anyone ever seen these, knows what they are from or if ray-ban (or sunglass hut) will do anything about it?

    thanks,

    Puder Luder

I have had a pair of ray-bans in for warranty/repare/replace for over a year. They won't do anything about it.
Worst customer service I've ever had.
They will probably blame the cracks on the recent business acquisition dealings that have gone wrong with the company.
    Good luck.

I'll second that, I dropped a pair and had one lens spiderweb. They just got back to me a month later with an 82.50 repair bill. I think I'll stick with Smith, Arnette (now defunct) and Oakley from here on out.

All of these comments are just reaffirming my decision to just re-bend my ray-ban sunglasses and not send them back for warranty.

Get Ray-Bans with glass lenses. I've had a pair since 1995, and not one problem. I can't count how many times I've dropped them, and yet the lenses are still in great condition.

The problem you're have is that the lens is de-laminating. Polarized lenses are made by sandwiching the polarizing membrane between two thin lenses. Polycarb lenses are particularly touchy, and have the most problems.
    Gravity. It's the law.
