    boot fits and small calves

i've searched the shit out of this topic and can't find anything
seems everything is related to the opposite; big calves.

but i have small calves and can never get a tight enough fit
have tried booster straps and have been in every season's new Il Moro's for the past three seasons. As tight as I engage the strap, my calf still swims around front to back...

    any advice??

I have the same problem. Have you tried moving the top buckles? The other thing that really made a difference for me was attaching some glue on tongue shims.

Yup, those look like they'll do the job. Years ago I just cut some pieces from an insulite pad & stuck them behind the tongues of the boot to relive shin bang. They would slowly compress & form to my shin till I would eventually add more. What I found was that I had a better fitting boot. Later on a bootfitter friend gave me some stick ons that go on the front of the boot tongue & look similar to what you're looking at. The ones I have now come in different thicknesses.

Additionally, did you put the booster strap around the liner and under the shell? do this instead of around the shell like a normal powerstrap.

In my opinion "The Eliminator" sucks. It automatically throws you back more and makes it a lot easier to end up in the backseat.

Two things I've found that work:

    1. Move the top two buckles on your boot.

    2. Get some high density foam and cut out a strip that can go around the entire inside shell of the boot near the top buckles. This way there is padding in the back as well, so easier to keep the pressure forward on your boots.

This just worked a lot better for me than "The Eliminator"

I like the Booster Strap for this. works well to suck the tongue into your shin more.

And I would also add the foam tongue inserts if you still have room to fill

That's the right way to solve this problem, move the buckles and add the firm padding to liner in the whole upper cuff area above the ankles. Do both because if you just move the buckles way over then you're changing the way the cuff wraps around the lower shell and many times you will end up stiffening the boot by closing the upper cuff more than it was designed to be closed around the lower shell which causes more friction and increases the stiffness by reducing your range of motion.

I rarely add material on the tongue because I feel your just moving the leg further away from the shell which is where the steering precision comes from. Firm material on the front of the shin can be tricky for most fits because your leg has no natural padding and so most of the time you would have to use softer material on the front of the leg. Soft padding in ski boots is not good, it makes the boot less precise, that's what you find in cheap boots for less skilled skiers.

foam- injected liners, such as zip-fit.

Zip fit is not a foam injected liner.

It was an injected silicone liner (much softer than foam) when it first came out in the 90s, now it's a flow, cork material that moves through pressure away from high pressure area and into the lower pressure spaces around the foot (not the best idea, but better than most stock liners).

Confromable is the best foam injected liner you can find today, and it also has a foam injectable tongue. The best solution, but much more expensive overall.

Booster straps allow you to snug up the top of the boot without over buckling top buckle and without creating excess pressure
