hey all truckee mags, how about we meet at the cottonwood friday night for a pray-for-snow-season kick-off drink-fest? say 7:30?
and ohc, way to take one for the team: i fully expect massive snow storms starting the 21st through new years
picking up my pass friday and will be hitting the WROD @ Alpine Sat
hey all.... unfortunately i am OUT for tomorrow night. i completely blew it and forgot about something on the family calendar....
if folks are game for Sat night.... i am pretty much down for that. given that one of my lil maggettes will be out on a sleepover (and i am trying to arrange for lil maggette #2 to also go to a friends).... i am guessing i'll be without kids....
anyhow.... how does Sat look for Truckee Mags? i'll buy the first round to make up for my screw up....![]()
I'm willing to guess that I'll be the only single dad schraping the WROD at Alpine on Saturday with three kids in tow, one on teles. Shout out for change.
not counting days 2016-17
i'll be at AM Sat and Sun taking the Instructor Clinic.
that said, i'd be down for grabbing a drink Sat. in Truckee, especially if OHC is buying!
Word is that you can ski Alpine (Roundhouse) if you show on Friday after 2PM - but who wants to do that?
Straight-lining is the way of the West.
Completely fogged in this morning - can't see the bridge at all from my office. Feels colder...come on remnants of typhoon Nida, don't let me down!
edit to make the images links cause they're quite large:

P.S. Houston's getting up to 6 inches of snow today. WTF. We'd better get our storm!

I'm registered for 1/15/2009! Thanks Jules.
freshies - Black Crowes were HOT on Tuesday night - worth checking out if you can get a ticket - I know Fri and Sat are sold out, but last I checked, Sun tix were available
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.
Damn damn damn.
I missed the registration for the LTCC classes and now they are booked. I want to take one in January with my gf, and I'm guessing I'll probably have to pay $200-$300 now. Sheet.
Any other recommendations on good classes/instructors? Level 1 is what we need. Thanks.
the under-the-radar choice --> Donner Summit Avalanche Seminars - run by Randall Osterhuber of the Central Sierra Snow Lab - $300 for Level 1

Because LTCC is so inexpensive, people often just do not show up. If you are willing to take a chance, just show up the morning of class. If there is room, you will be allowed to register. Just be sure to be registereed as a student prior.
When I took my class it was fully booked. Day of the class, four people did not show up.
Looking like this Sun/Mon should have an event of very dry snow. Blower on rock. Gnaaaar!
