    Yet another JONGish question

After reading several threads on this forum I noticed that most guys here are raving about reverse sidect skis in powder. According to you they are the best most maneuverable and powerful tool for skiing natural deep snow.

What I do not understand is why all those ski manufacturers continue producing those traditionally shaped skis and are so timid about putting in production R/R designs? Why there are so many skiers, good skiers, who prefer traditional but FAT shapes in powder? And they are not those stupid morons who can only make hop turns in pow.

Well, you may say "on a powder day we have to deal with a mixed bag of conditions".

Even when watching the groups heli or cat skiing you'll see lots of guys on traditional shapes. How can this be explained?

PS: with this thread I do not intend to insult anybody. I just do not understand the whole idea but want to.

Go ski/board a few thousand days, on many different generations of equipment, and c'mon back and chat.

(I have no opinion on said subject, just the sampling method of involved parties)

everyone is hesitant to change, in every walk of life. IMO the rocker will have a big effect on powder skiing, not so much reverse sidecut.

as dan birdos said, try to sell a reverse/reverse to a big muscle guy who used to rail carvers on ice.... most likely they'll accept this revolution only when - old and weak - they'll finally try something to spare their legs.

I agree on the resistance to change ,the local snowboard shop (who buys skis in a snow board shop?) brought in 2 pairs of JJ's which were sold out everywhere and got pretty good reviews

even tho he is a very savy business man buddy couldnt sell them ... he ends up selling the demo's at less than cost and the new pair to me at cost after the ski season is over

really all you gotta do is try them to see if you like em ...I think they sell themselves
