Out in da streets they call it Grandeur. (Photo TR)

Got in a solid few hours of sleep before 4:30am came. Pedaling away from my front door a little after five.

Grandeur Peak visible in the wee hours, a cool sliver of moon hanging low

There are some sections on the way up that are rideable, but for the most part it's rather hikey.

    Near the top

SLC in all its grandeur. It's supposed to be 100 degrees again today or something, at 7:30 on the top it was damn near perfect.

The top section of the descent is fun, like really fun. Gilchrist pretty much got everything clean so I'll show some pictures of him on his red bike

We sessioned a few of the top moves a couple of times

    A perfectly pitched roller

Back to my place a little after 9 and those guys made it to work on time. Easy as Sunday morning

Nice work guys. Having hiked that many, many times, I can attest to your abilities to get that upper section clean. I'd be walking with my panties all bunched up.

Ride/push up Rattlesnake to Pipeline. Pipeline to Grandeur trail, from there it's mixed riding, pushing, carrying.

Very interesting, may have to try this one soon. I just assumed that route would be closed to bikes since Mt. Aire was the last time I checked. Definitely looks like some fun technical stuff. Sure would be nice if they would leave some of those rocky sections in the more popular Millcreek trails.

Did you just want the extra challenge of going up Rattlesnake or not want to start from Church Creek?

Why ride up the road when you can ride up a trail? And yes, Rattlesnake is always a challenge. I think I've made it clean 1 time out of about a million attempts, just about always feel like throwing up on that one.
