Not "exaggerated version of XXL". Big Dump is lower-profile tip only 55mm high (XXL is 90mm), and supposedly 300mm deep rocker. I have no pics though.

This is extremely accurate - the Big Dump has a very low profile tip, very subtle rocker and TONS of camber. I foldled it today and Ski Rex in Denver.

Few other random notes from fondlefest:

The new gotama actually feels pretty burly underfoot and is a nice looking ski. Great understated graphic.

I can't confirm this - but I swear they actually put the rocker into the Volkl Katana that they claimed they put in the past years. Mine had none in past years. But the foldled pair was def zero camber and had a rockered tip, slight rocker in the tail.

The salomon shogun feels like a ski a lot of people here will actually dig if you willing to look at Salomons again. Relatively stiff throughout, gets softer toward the tip, subtle rocker, noticable when you press the ski together, looks like a great versatile AM ski in the 191.

Rossi rep confirmed they added metal and some stiffness to the 195 S7.

    That is all.

I had my own fondlefest today. The Big Dump doesnt look like the shovel is that long. It actually surprised me. I expected a longer shovel on it. Not as much camber as the XXL, but interestingly it is the EXACT same length as a 194 XXL. The standout to me though was the RC112. I think some 198s might have a place in my future

Jealous. I wanted to get my hands on the RC, but no luck. I Inquired about the RC112 with the Rossi rep and he said it was designed to be a bit easier to ski than the Squads were, not quite as demanding. A small step down to open the audience a bit but still a charging big mountain board. He said he had already been on a 198 and the rocker successfully increased the manuverability, which was their intent.

With how long the shovel is on those things, the 198 is going to ski quite a bit shorter than a 194 Squad. Still going to be like a Mack truck when going straight though

I saw a pair of Katanas at REI the other day and I was suprised to see they had rocker, the pair I fondled were last years in a 190 and it had rocker in the tip and tail more than I expected to see. I have fondled the Atomic atlas and think it looks great, The big dump did not have as much rocker as I thought it would, but I realy want to see the RC 112 it I saw a pair last year at the bird didnt get to fondle them but I remember they looked good not to much rocker for that type of skis but looked like the right amount.
If ski companies didn't make new skis every year I wouldn't have to get new skis every year.

^^^I briefly checked out the darksides the other day at a sale in denver...the thing that stuck out in my mind is that they were ridiculously light for their size. If I remember the flex correctly it was pretty stiff, but not LP stiff. Not quite as much rocker as I was expecting.

Here is one of the proto pairs. New ones have 5cm more rocker length in both the tip and the tail.

Not a great photo, but best one I can think of right now.

Minor changes to this as well. 0.5cm more rocker height in each tip, 5cm shorter tail rocker.

Was able to track another one down. Again, same as above. A bit more rocker height, slightly shorter in tail rocker.

ok, sorry in the delay, I forgot my camera so I only have cellphone photos, I will try and get them up tomorrow.

Darkside is nice and light. It is pretty stiff under foot, with a medium tail and a pretty soft damp flexing tip.
