    What Springsteen song is this!??

So I'm not sure if this is even the right forum, and this question is very vague, but...
I heard a song today that I know is by Bruce Springsteen, but I can not remember most of the song and can't find it looking through lots on itunes...
So the one part I remember is the beat which I will terribly try to repeat...
    dadadada (pause) dadada dada da
I want to say the first 4 keep getting HIGHER(Edit:I put louder before, oops) than the note before, the 5th 6th and 7th do the same to each other, so do the 8th and 9th but lower, and the last(10th) is probably the lowest key of all..
The song reminded me of Glory Days

also if you have any music like this I may not have heard of, tell me about it, I need some new music.

Born to Run is one of Springsteen's more obscure tunes and easily overlooked...

The thing is I could have sworn I heard a few more keys in there, over and over again at the start, but maby it was in my head. If you listen to Springsteen, got any recomendations of similar artists, or songs like Born to Run I might not have?

If you like what you hear with BTR then I'd start with that...that was his 3rd album and the one many consider to be his best but I like the next one, Darkness on the Edge of Town better. The ones that came after those were bigger commercially, and The River is pretty good, but he kinda lost me after that one...

BTW, IMHO...there are no "similar artists", not now anyway...you'd have to go back before Springsteen to find that...Buddy Holly, Elvis....etc...

Perhaps it was Born in the USA. That one is not very well known either...

Sometimes I feel like a retard because I just plain don't "get" Springstein. Honestly, my favorite song of his is that recent one about girls in their summer clothes. I dig that sound. The rest of it kind of annoys me.

I love the Boss. Oddly, perhaps my favorite album is one of his most recent efforts, Devils and Dust. TOTALLY DIFFERENT from BTR, but man...talk about goosebumps.

Bruce kind of annoys me too (before my time, maybe) but the Nebraska album is F’n genius. I think The Gaslight Anthem has a "similar vibe" as Bruce with a little Social Distortion thrown in to mix things up.

Same. Like U2, I just don't understand Bruce.

good to know, thanks. For the people not as crazy for him, I have to say I like a good handfull oh his songs a lot, but others aren't as catchy for me and I can see how some don't listen to him. Also a fair amount of his songs are kinda sad to listen to. And whoever mentionted U2, I've never liked them 2 much(so I think that is agreeing with you). Maby a few songs, but those get old very fast.

    (In a good way).
But I've never heard of that Born to run song. Nice find ...

Yep, easily overheard, too. I'm guessing you're under 18.

Love him or hate him, he used to put on one hell of a live show...

He used to refuse to play big sports arenas because he felt they would compromise the "feel" of his performance. I saw him in 1979 at a 5K seat theater in Chicago. The place was literally shaking from the people jumping around. He played a 2 hour set, took a break and came back out and played another 2 hour set...was the best concert I ever saw.

Six months later, after "The River" sold huge I saw him at an 18K seat sports arena...so much for compromising his "feel" and the whole "working class hero" persona...

BTW...while I'm thinking about it, to the OP...

The problem with Springsteen is his hits. They don't sound like the rest of his material and they suck in comparison.

A lot of Bruce's "greatest hits" are really over the top- all emotion, cheesy lyrics, Wall of Sound production. I love that shit, but it's pretty clear to me why someone wouldn't. Springsteen nonsubscribers are advised to listen to the nearly all-acoustic Nebraska, which is actually a demo tape for an electric album that was never released. Sick album all-around, and if you don't like "Atlantic City" then I don't know what to say.

"Backstreets" is my favorite Bruce song, though The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle is my favorite Bruce album.

Speaking of Nebraska, listen to Johnny Cash's cover of Highway Patrolman.

The Band's cover of "Atlantic City" is pretty sweet, too, although a lot like the original.
