    P4 vs Mothership

Looking at buying one of these two skis in the next week or so, lots of good deals out there. I have not skied them but figure I can't go wrong with either one. Looking for some feedback from folks that have skied both. I'm looking at the 181 or 185. I am 40, 5-10, 175 lbs and used to ski 100 days a year for many years(mostly at CB) but now I'm a dad with a job and only get in about 25 days. Thanks, Mike

motherships are so solid u wont regret it if u buy them! as for the p4's they are still really good but they are not as much of a charger.

search, there are plenty of reviews for both of these i think.

Haven't skied the motherships, but the P4's are really fun. Very soft tail, and softer overall than the motherships (from what i've heard). If you are skiing only on good snow days, and not charging anything crazy, go with the P4's (which you can also probably find cheaper). If you ski hard, or want something pretty stable, go with the m-ships.
    Line makes a good ski!

Suxx to have a job, right? Listen to me, son. Everyone makes mistakes....
Now, speaking about the skis. This is a no brainer in my opinion - don't be pussy, get the Mships - they are sick.

Sort of off topic. I have only skied the 191 P4s, so no comparison to the motherships. I will tell you that I also ski first generation legend pros, b squads and stockli stormriders (all charging stiff skis). IMHO, some will tell you that certain skis "charge hard." Skiers charge hard, not skis. I have found that certainly stiffer skis are more "stable", but this doesn't mean you can't ski as fast or aggresively on less demanding softer skis like the P4. I find that because the P4's are more medium in terms of longitudinal flex, they are easier to bend and therefore they make for a MORE stable platform during the turn in all types of snow. Straightlining maybe not quite as much (but close). I take out my P4s more and more these days and ski just as fast or faster than when I am on other skis mentioned. The point is that it is more about preference in terms of flex from what I have observed from skiing many types of skis over the years. By the way, the P4's float very well in deep snow for a traditionally shaped ski, and ski good on groomers. My 2 cents FWIW.
