    nice action pinnoir.

It's tough to make a living as a sarcastic internet telemarker these days anyways.

    Congrats Pinner.

I don't know about your area, but a lot of the private BLS transport companies out here are shady. I normally don't recommend them to new guys unless you are desperate for work. Hospitals and public services are the better choice. Good luck.

I start a new gig next week at a regional hospital on an ICU transport crew. I won't be flying just yet, but that's around the corner with a little more training. If I could do it again, I would have gone through a PA program.

True dat on the shady privates. My wife worked for one of the worst. If it comes to it, PM me and I'll get recommendations for you. lots of my volunteers work on privates as their day gig.

Another sucky but easy to get gig is the casinos. Work lots of heart attacks.

"Shady Privates" would be a good name for a band.

Leaving on Monday to lead a three-month adventure travel and service learning trip to Ghana, then back in the country in September and I'll be on the hunt for a job asap. I'd like to work in a clinical setting, but probably will run on a private company for a while to cut my teeth. Maybe ski patrol? Paramedic academy or PA school might come next. We'll see.

It wasn't quick, but the career change is most decidedly underway.
    Heyyyy!!

Got a couple texts about this thread last week, so had to figure out my old log-ins and come say congrats to Pinner. WTG! That is so awesome- you are probably in Ghana by now, but hopefully you see this at some point maybe when you get back from your travels. Very happy for ya and very psyched to hear your news!!!

So glad to see TGR is still around and kicking... and some of the very same threads are still on the first pages, lol. License plates, xfit thread, irule&ublow randomness, Iceman threads....all make me smile. All we need is an Old Larry angst thread to be complete. Miss you kooks!

We moved down from SF to Palo Alto (school for me & nerdlove's machine learning startup). As for ambo, I'm more in the ICU & ER these days (translational research 4 pulmonary/crit care), though still will pick up a shift here and there on the rig when they need coverage. Also still teach skills & alphabet soup classes a few times a month at the Paramedic Association, which I absolutely LOVE. The students have really great energy and enthusiasm. In fact, I suspect one of my recent EMT students may have even had change for a nickle since he was a splitboarder & talked about TGR. Small world Anyway- if any Bay Area peeps are looking for a great EMT program, highly recommend checking out the SFPA, it's a phenomenal program and you will be extremely well trained!

On a sad note, our corgi Linus passed away this past fall from an inoperable neck herniation leaving him paralyzed from the neck down (if anyone recalls, he had IVDD). We were stunned and are absolutely brokenhearted and miss him like crazy. If you'd like to check out the little memorial video I made for him, here it is:

He was such a special dog. Will most likely adopt another rescue corgi hopefully sometime soon, but haven't started to actively look cuz our schedules are so wack these days, wanna wait till we can devote a little more time to doggers. In the meantime Linus left a very big hole in our hearts. Poor bitchy cat has been getting swamped with affection, haha... she's all discombobulated by and mildly suspicious of the extra attention.

Anyway hope all y'all are good. Beandip4all shall go back to being retired, not much time to feed the internet addiction these days. Plakespear's birthday is coming up in a couple weeks, so will be drinking some beers in his honor and thinking back about the good times with him and all my other friends from TGR! Sprite & Woodsy, see ya in Sept

    Cheers and hugs,
    Courtney/Beandip
