FS: 1994 Toyota pickup in SLC

1994 yota pickup. 6 cylinder, manual tranny, extra cab, grey with grey cloth interior. 4 wheel drive. Alpine cd/mp3 receiver w/ipod hookup, Alpine 6.5" component speakers and Sirius satellite radio. Matching grey aluminum truck cap and plastic bed liner.

I've owned this truck for 3 or 4 years now. Seems a little weird to consider selling it. It's been a great truck. Never left me stranded, never really needed anything except regular maintenance. You would never guess that it has 240k when driving it. Still runs and drives great, really smooth on the highway, not much for rattles inside.

I'm the second owner. I bought it from the first owner who had owned this truck around lake tahoe it's whole life. It hadn't seen salt until I brought it back east. It only saw 2 winters on the east coast but that was enough to let a little bit of rust set in. Nothing too horrible through, no rotting or anything like that.

The previous owner kept all receipts and so have I. I have a folder with a stack of receipts that is about an inch thick. I know of 2 things that are mechanically wrong with the truck.

    1) Passenger door doesn't open from the inside. Well, it does if you really put your shoulder into it. Opens fine from the outside.

    2) There is a small power steering leak. I need to top of the fluid every 3 - 5 months.

Other than that I know of nothing that this truck needs. Clutch was recently done. Has newer BFGs with plenty of tread. The head gasket was done around 160k by the dealership.

I went through my receipts the other night and here's a list of what the truck has had fixed or repaired recently, in order of most recent:

Front brakes (pads, rotors and calipers)
    Clutch
    Front upper ball joint
    Fuel filter
    Transmission mount and bolts
    Thermostat
    Battery
    Water pump
    Timing belt
Steering relay rod (replaced due to recall)
    Rear shocks

    Asking $2800.

I did consider asking more. When I post it on KSL and craigslist I might go as high as $3500.

my eyes are always peeled for big asses...........

dude, why don't you drive that piece back to tahoe and sell it for like $6500, i think around the lake the value of yota's increases exponentially as they get older. if you drive it to canada first, you can coast your way back down and save on gas......

    Man. Very very VERY tempted.

Would this thing have trouble towing a sled up a hill?
Would a sled fit in its bed? (Would obviously stick out some, that's ok).

I know nothing about oldskool Yota pickups: which model, engine (hp, torque), etc?

My '08 Yamaha Nytro spent most of the winter in the back of the bed, no problems.

The model is just the "Pickup". It's the last year before they started calling them Tacomas. It's got the v6, I think it's rated somewhere around 150 horse power. It's towed trailers x-country twice with no problem.

Other than the 2 x-country trips it never towed anything else. I guess my sled was only in it for part of the winter. I was unloading it for the first half of the winter when I wasn't using it but then some fucker stole my sled ramp out of the back of my truck, at that point my sled just camped out in the back.

    Pics tonight, I promise.

I also forgot to mention that it has a matching aluminum truck cap and bed liner.

I'd also welcome skis in partial trade. Skis I'm currently interested in are Solly Rockers and/or Line Motherships.

Got an older sled for my lady friend, I'd probably consider taking that in partial trade too.

Yup, I don't see any obvious reason to think it wouldn't. I recently took it on a 16 hour round trip road trip to Lake Havasu and it had no issues what so ever.

I can't wait to sell mine in 7 years for $3000 ($2200 less than I paid for it) .... can't do that with many vehicles.
