Intuition Liners, with or without foot beds

I was given these and I am going to bake them tonight. I hear from people intuition liners do not need foot beds and I have heard from other people they do. I droped down in boot size from a 305mm shell to a 297 and I am trying to squeze the most room out of these that I can. These are not the warp around liners they are a tradional looking liner.

    Thanks

Not familiar with the traditional liner.

I've only baked my Power Wraps with foot beds.

I'd make the call based on whether you have enough volume to spare for the beds. If not, don't use them.

Intuition still says you don't need them, but most bootfitters will disagree.

    Use the footbeds.
Why not call 604-879-9231, (intuition), and ask?

I have tried both with the wrap-around liners and it sucked without footbeds.

I asked a similar question to Intuition not long ago. Some of their liners are designed for use with footbeds (i.e. Dalbellos) and some of them are not (i.e. Powerwraps). It seems to depend on the thickness of the sole material. Give 'em a call as Plugboots suggested or send 'em an e-mail. They have been very responsive to me.

I've always had them baked with footbeds in. Happy with them.

9 years/ 4 pairs of powerwraps, all with footbeds. I couldn't imagine skiing them without.

I bought some powerwraps this winter. Had them molded without footbeds, skied in them, and then had them re-molded with footbeds. Molding with footbeds was $$$.

Footbeds with out a doubt. Both my power wraps are molded with footbeds.

why does intuition keep saying that footbeds are unnecessary despite countless users saying otherwise?

That's a good question Bean. I'm waiting for my liners to come in the mail and had I not read this thread, I probably would have gone with their recommendation (sans footbeds).

I love my intuition powerwraps, and they allow me to ski a shell with less than a finger fit behind my heel pain free. Been a commited footbed user for years. No footbed in mine

Might it be because everyone's feet are different? Geez.. no footbeds for me.

My Tornado Pros came with Intuition liners and a shitty Scarpa foot bed (super thin). I used that for a season and then replaced them with basic Superfeet and they feel much better. Never tried them without any footbed, but that's almost what I had when the stock Scarpa footbed was in there.

Depends on the liner, for what I have heard?
Some of the intuition and palau liners are designed to be sans footbed.
The amount of materiel is that great (especially at the arch) that if you put in a footbed you are going to end up with quite intresting pronations...
Old thermoflex liners were perfect without footbeds but my newer palaus would have benefitted from them.Maybe.

Flat foot here ,I can't do much of anything without foot beds

I got a very sporty fit in my AT boots so I needed some extra room in the toe , I have the softec regular ,they are cheap ,they are heat moldable and you can customize them ... I was able to grind off all the hard grey foam from the bottom of the toe/ball of the foot till the red top covering shows thru

Depends on yr feet. I toured in Luxuries yesterday w/out footbeds. My arches ache and my feet pronated hard, causing bad ankle pain and pain around the side of the toebox. Footbeds are absolutely necessary for my feet to retain proper posture. Period. A flat surface does not work for my feet. End of story.

Heh,this is why bootfitting is such a biatch..
I tried to use some a bit packed out intuition liners with surefoot footbeds and ended up with the exact same symptoms... Just that my problem was the frigging footbeds that had so much arch support started to pronate my feet, caused pain around the toebox and caused ankle pain...

Sometimes I feel like robbing a bank, flying to a tibetian monastery and finding the Dalai Bootfitter who could resolve all the issues for good.

Fixed it for you. That is, if what you mean is that the arches were so high that they forced you onto the *outsides* of your feet.
