    4. Ski sale at Guides Hut. note $360 cdn for 165 and 173 explosives (wizards).
    5. Recieved my MEC (Mountian Equipment Coop) winter catolog in the mail.
    6. Aussis moving into town. no definate spottings yet.
    7. Lack of jobs in town until ski season.

It's a co-op, so you need to buy in for $10. They also won't ship most items outside Canada. You may be able to convince a local maggot to help yu out, though. PM if needed.

So about how much can you save on some skis? How much do you think they'll be selling the K2 Apache Chiefs in US dolllars? They are $570 at Backcountry store.

MEC has some very sweet clothing at half the price of the brand name sh*t, just as good or if not better. They will also match any lower price of the same product and have dope prices everywhere.

You should include GST for those prices.

I think that our American friends would get the tax back at the border if they came uphere to buy these boards.

Well to get this thread back on topic, I posted this on another regional board. Some of the pics are reruns to avid TGR'ers, but FWIW here goes.

    Ah, yes, summer is over.
The kids have gone back to school, and the days are getting shorter. High school and college football seasons have already begun. But what really makes the difference in the change in seasons is more of a change in attitude. Waking up each day and knowing that Thanksgiving is another day closer, and the countdown is no longer in triple digits but double. Should it come as any surprise to us that the opening ski weekend usually coincides with Thanksgiving? It's a date that we have looked forward to since last spring, and I'm always thankful when the temperatures first drop below freezing and the ski areas put their first layer of snow on the slopes.

Yes, summer is over. The leaves have already begun to change depositing themselves on the ground,

and in the streams of the Smokies. http://www.tetongravity.com/usergall...4_125100AA.JPG
The animals are putting on their winter fat in preparation for the season ahead.
    http://www.tetongravity.com/usergall...3_194550AA.JPG
Soon the mountains will appear in a kaleidoscope of colors first on the ridges
    http://web.knoxnews.com/slideshows/g...ocheecolor.jpg
and later on in the valleys.
    http://web.knoxnews.com/slideshows/g...eklowerend.jpg

As the leaves fall, the yellows, reds and oranges will give way to a frosty white on the mountains.
    http://web.knoxnews.com/slideshows/g.../0111snow2.jpg
Then as the cold becomes more persistent, the streams will freeze and the entire landscape will be transformed.
    http://web.knoxnews.com/slideshows/g.../0218snow2.jpg

    I cannot wait.
I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.

Shit, sounds like you would pay just as much if you by them here in the United States, once you figure in the sales tax and the shipping.

For me it just took place, the snowboard shop just called and told me my new boots arrived (only took 5 months for the full replacement warranty to finally come through).

Signs of Nthn Hemi Fall/Winter coming means signs for me that Spring/Summer is coing. Here are my signs that Spring/Summer is coming.

1.) It is no longer dark when I go to work.
2.) It is sometimes light if I get out of work before 6pm.
3.) Snow is starting to melt here and everyone is gearing up for the spring slushfests.
4.) No suit coat needed in the mornings.
5.) Been going to meet mates at the beach to chill out on Sundays - still no swimming yet.
6.) Booked and ready to head Nth for a powderfest in Japan in January.
7.) Already dreading reading all your reports and seeing pics of endless supplies of powder whilst I am here sweltering looking at chicks in Bikinis (some without Bikini Tops on) at the beach all summer.. Rambling.
8.) My Dad wants me to clean the pool.
Avoid employing unlucky people - throw half of the pile of resume's in the bin without reading them.

    1) School has begun.
    2) I see the moon walking up Presidio each morning (doesn't happen till November).
    3) The light, fast-moving summer fog is supplanted by the two weeks of Indian Summer (now) and then the thick, comforter of winter fog rolls in.
    4) Trips to the Sierras are marked by frost, thin crusts of ice, and a few flakes.
    5) Aching legs till November 30th.
    6) Crisp afternoon air.
    7) Squinted eyes, tanned skin, and spray in the face. Screaming reaches and planning over waves underneath the gate. Foulies and booties, full finger gloves and SOSpenders replace the summer days of board shorts, 1/2 gloves, barefoot feet, and no shirt...
    8) Long runs ending in cool darkness and sunsets seen over baker beach on the way back from the golden gate.
    9) Cool winds blowing in my window.
    10) Thick fuzzy comforters and hooded sweatshirts.

Teledave - that was amazing. Thanks!

    Thumbs up

Leaves changing first at my place in the Adirondacks(which I seem to have fallen in love with after knocking off my first 2 High Peaks, my plan is to become a 46er before I graduate High School) Leaves Changing at home in NJ, thats about 3 weeks off still.

Having to break out the fleece vest in the mornings, and later, having to keep it on all day.

The first fire in our woodstove, which happened about a week ago. Thos of you familiar with woodstoves used as a heat source know how amazingly soul-warming they are.

Peddie Day, which falls in early November. Unless you went to boarding school in the Mid-Atlantic or are Laseranimal, this means nothing to you.

The first football game of the season, with the goalposts backdropped my a hillside that is often ablaze in colors by October.

Getting firewood delivered to our houe in the 'dacks. Even if you only spend about 30 days there from October-Easter, you still burn about a chord of wood. Always fun to stack.

The first ski team dryland practice, and the first day we go dumpster diving to find furniture for the team room.

Hmmm, thats about all I can think of now, I'm sure 100 more things will pop into my head tonight while I'm laying in bed.
