    Pop goes the season

Well that was an interesting season. To bad it took until Match for the skiing to get up to snuff, and then just as things start getting good, ACL tear

Aired a small feature last Thursday, landed a little back seat and did the classic bounce, twist and POP.

Great way to celebrate my birthday. The only positive thing about it, is that the knee I did in, my left one, has been a little unstable for years, and getting worse with time. So hopefully after I get fixed up I will actually be in better shape than I was. Looks like summer is going to be a lot of PT instead of mountain biking and back packing.

Gimp Central is the place to prepare for the procedure and the rehab. I'm 10 weeks post op now and making good progress. Hate to hear it. Work like hell and you'll be back for next season.

Eldo- that sucks to hear. Wish you a speedy recovery. Stay positive, you will be biking and hiking in no time. Get to physio and start working that thing!

If your opting surgery, wait time might be long but truth is you don't need an ACL to be active, you need balanced quads and hamstrings. Lots of people never do get the surgery and go on to be active and excel in sports in very limited recovery time. If you choose the surgery recovery is about 9 months however if you work hard you can be back skiing in just over 6 months.

    Good luck and best wishes!

Thanks guys, I'm going to see a surgeon today for a run down on how bad it is, and what the options are. I know I've read about people going on without an ACL, but damn, at the moment I don't know how. My knee has absolutely NO 'stop', it wants to hyper extend at the least little thing, I'm wearing a brace just to keep from ripping up my knee worse. We'll see how it goes, but I intend to hit the PT right away, and as hard as I am allowed. I have to much stuff planned for this summer to allow my self to sit around and moan about things.

Hey Splat, good to hear you are back on the sticks, take it easy, I know you are probably aching to go full speed again.

Not the news I was hoping to hear, Bro. But now you can focus on getting it fixed and back on skis.

I skied with Ted a few weekends ago and he is back charging pretty hard, so I'm sure he can give some advice if you want.
