You have got to be fucking kidding me! That rod is still in NYC? WTF? At first I thought this traveling rod thing was a cool idea, now I think its just a joke. I wanted to get in on the fun but was told all the spots for the year are taken. Now I see it was in Pa. for 2 months and the dude caught 1 Bluegill with it and now it sits in NYC for another month and not even being fished with. Since Mushmouth has had the rod, I've made 2 trips to the Madison, I've been up and down the Henrys fork including several days on what some consider the holy grail of fly fishing The Harrimen Ranch, and I just got home from fishing the South Fork for 5 days. Fuck, I would only need that bitch for 1 or 2 days, catch a few fish, take a few photos and then send it to the next person. Isn't that how it's suppose to work? Sitting on the rod for more then a week or so is BS.

And where are the TR's of these epic journeys? You don't need a fancy rod with a story to share your own. Beyond a couple random shots on your first post, you've added nearly zero to this forum. Why not?

There have been more photos posted from Maria's stop in New York (with a couple more coming today) than you've posted here since joining, despite all these trips you say you've made. I find that pretty interesting.

Schwerty, the rod, journal and box are going in the mail at noon today. Good luck!

You, Sir, just dug yourself one hell of a hole. I've fished a lot of sweet places in the time that Maria has been on the east coast. So what? Most others have too. The east coast mags will fish some cool spots while I have her....

The point of this thing is for the rod to keep traveling and continue it's adventures as we document them in the journal. The timeline seems to be a rough guideline. Maria is not being retired to my knowledge. Everyone, excluding whinny bitches, will be able to participate. Nobody cares about who is catching the biggest and most fish with the rod. I think I can speak for everyone in saying all of the stops it makes are equally as interesting.

So, please pull the plug out of your ass and try to grasp the picture of why we are doing this. Mush contributes a lot and deserves to play with Maria as long as he wants.....and, it really wasn't all that long. On a final note, many of the mags that are in line to fish Maria don't necessarily have the opportunity to get out whenever they feel like. Thus, sometimes it takes a little bit longer to send on than planned.
    -----

Fuck, I'm in a pissy mood today! Time to quite work for the week and go fishing.

Schwerty - She's on her way to you via USPS Priority.
Tube and Journal/Box have the following tracking #'s:
    03093220000066979471
    03093220000066979297

Hope her journey is swift. She will be missed.

Here are three unedited 2min clips from last weekend using a POV1.5...with no sound...the unit is screwed up and shipped it back to VIOSport today.

Clip 1: Maria misses several bass (her fault, not mine)

Clip 2: Maria lands a nice pickerel...perfect release.

Clip 3: Maria loses a good sized bass in the lily pads...need stronger leaders.

Mush, As far as me posting TRs and photos of my "epic journeys", seeing how I was born and raised in southeast Idaho they're not epic journeys to me. I don't take pics or even carry a camera with me every time I go fishing. I don't feel the need to take "proof" photos of every fish I catch and post them on the internet so everyone can see how rad I am. BTW, there is nothing wrong with posting pics on the internet, I just chose not to. Very interesting, I know.

Like Schwerty said, " The point of this thing is for the rod to keep traveling and continue its adventures.......". if that means you guys sitting on the rod for a month or two and sending it back and forth from the East coast to Wyoming then so be it. I'll try not to be a whiney bitch then and besides its none of my business, I'm not even on the list.

Then your reference to "the holy grail of fly fishing" was misleading.

This can't be why you think anybody photographs anything? Or shares anything? I think the entire process of fishing is wonderful and I like to see the images when I'm not out there and share them with others so they may feel the same way.

Please stop making incorrect generalities. Last time I got the rod it came from Florida and was sent to upstate NY, this time it came from AK and was sent to WY. I think it went to AK from Mexico, or at least a trip there.

And as for sitting on the rod, it arrived here shortly after I left for a 10 day trip. When I came back I fished it in the salt one weekend then in fresh water the next and posted that next person up should step up. Perhaps that next person was away at the time. Who knows? You seemed to be the only person who thought the system was falling apart.

All this BS aside, I'd love to see some of the areas you fish and it would be nice to see a familiar face (the rod) there too, but I don't get why the first time you chime in on this thread is to call out those that are making an effort to add to it.

I have never been to or seen SE Idaho and would be very interested in a local perspective and pics of an unknown area that I will probably never see in person. without the douchbaggery of course.

At the risk of getting myself onthe "no-fish list"......although his delivery sucks, I can kind of see where the birdhuntjong is coming from. The traveling rod & journal is a pretty unique deal. The kind of thing many people, myself included would love to partake in just for the sake of it. I don't think there needs to be a time limit on having the rod or anything, but maybe just a bit more thought towards the group when using the rod/ If you know it's coming to you in the mail, plan a day to take her out, and get her turned around. Some circumstances (it shows up just as you leave town) are unavoidable, and nobody should catch any crap from anyone else for such occurences. I do wonder however, how many people would like to use the rod for the first time, and how many people have seen it more than once. Share the love, that's all I'm saying. I'd love to fish the TGR rod myself. I know there are a couple others in the Boise area who would like to as well. If it's close by, and you want to send it, or you want to swing by and throw some bugs at the local waters, send me a PM. I don't consider myself a great flyfisherman, but I'll fish with anyone and the first beer is on me.

Well put. Nobody is parking on her on purpose. Things come up and others need to be patient. Barring any accidents, she should be around for a while yet. Dharma, we'll get you on the list yet. In fact, I should probably start a 2011 sign up thread as well.

I recommend taking old Maria for a spin in December & January when fishing gusto is on the decline but the fishing is fantastic. Couldn't give her away last winter.

well, I know that I don't know any of you here, but I'd love to give Maria a shot over here on some euro fish. I'm in a small town northeast of Hannover with a stream running right behind my place. I know there's fish in it cause my neighbor fishes in it.

so how much would it cost to get Maria to Germany for a few days?
