What section on the South Platte?
What section on the South Platte?

Above the bridge, just below wigwam.
Not at all... got on the water about noon, landed a little guy on a golden stone nymph pretty quickly. Unsuccessfully worked some other sections and decided to switch to an egg pattern with a midge larvae trailed behind. Pulled a nice bow out of a riffle that I usually can't get to when the flow is higher. Got tired of fishing in the shadows, so I walked back to a slow, deep, sunny hole about 1:30ish. First cast, got a good drift and landed that big rainbow. Good fight from that guy... he launched out of the water and then ran a good 30 or 40 yards, so i was psyched to bring him to hand. Drifted the egg/larvae through that same hole immediately after and had another take... felt sizable too, but he bucked the hook. Two for two. Drifted through there once more and got another take... three for three.
Noticed some risers near my location, so I scrambled. Dismayed to see I was ill-prepared for this sort of thing, I grabbed the first thing in my box with a parachute... a little parachute BWO when an Adams would have been preferable. Sun was dipping quickly at this point, so I hurriedly tied my fly on and presented it and got a take after 3 or 4 casts. Real small rainbow, but it felt good to get a take on a dry fly in December.
I have seen several posts here about members fishing the CA Aqueduct. I would like to give this a try and was wondering what the access areas were. I am looking for something around the Pyramid Lake/Castaic area. Any info would be a great help.
Thanks a lot
Maria and I are headed back to Deckers tomorrow. She's spent Chanukah with me... where's she going for Christmas?
It's been a while. Any updates? If she's resting, it's well deserved.
Hopefully she is resting on a beach somewhere.
She's sitting in my living room, warm and dry for the moment. I just got back from the caribbean and she's been resting nicely all the while. That could change soon, unless I ever decide to go skiing again.
^^^Me too. Sorry we haven't be able to hook up, the snow has finally started to fall.......Anyway, if she can stick around the Front Range until this weekend I'd love to get her out.

...And the greatest ice must crumble when it's flower's time to grow.
Last call for Maria. I'm fishing Deckers again on Saturday, and unless someone else in Colorado claims here, she's being shipped to PA first thing Monday morn.
P4B, you game? Gretch?
72Twenty suggested getting a Google Map going in another thread. It got me thinking that I should resurrect a project I started this past summer trying to get one going for the Maria's travels.
This is pretty bare bones right now. I've only added Maria's trip to the Bozeman area.
It would be great if those that had spent some time with her could post up their location with maybe a short annotation and any pictures if possible. No need to give up any secret stashes, just general location/region would be cool.
As soon as we get the thing population with marks as to her visits, we can use the line tool to connect her travels.

That is fucking great. I want to be a part of this when the season rolls around.
Grab old Maria in the off season and you can keep her for damn near 2 months like I have. But shes off to PA tomorrow... (tear, sigh).
How does one add to the map?
Damn - good question MTM. I thought that by making the map "Public" with open collaboration, anyone could edit it. I was wrong.
I'll keep tweaking it and let you know when I get it running properly.
Alright - it's now set up properly w/ "Open collaboration".
I think you still need a Google account to edit it though. I'll look into this further. In the meantime, if anyone has a google account, you should be able to open the link, and click "Edit" in the left upper side. You'll be able to add a pin location including a text notation and picture.
Here's a quick google tutorial on how to add a pic to the map:

BTW, I need a "do-over" with this rod again this season.
Did the journal ever finally catch up with the rod?

The map has been updated with Maria's NY and Rhody locations. Should very cool when it's all updated.![]()

FKNA Mush! That is so sweet!
Glad this seems to be working. Who else has got something to add?
Just added some Deckers pics. Great call on the map ig!
