It was tough conditions for a 6wt, but I finally broke her in properly on Sunday, April 5. The water was up and moving and holding on to 10lb + steelhead was going to be a chore, but she held up. Ended up hooking into three steelhead all on small nuke flies. First was a large, chrome steelhead fresh into the river. A few good head shakes and a hard run and away she went. Second was a modest size steelhead out of a small run that's always been a good producer for me. A few good runs and some around some rocks it went and busted off. At this point I'm thinking I'm never going to land anything, but after a quick re-tie I sided back up into the same run and fish on. While it's not the biggest fish in the river.......it's something and it's a first. So I give you the first fish caught on the TGR Traveling Rod.
Burr, you're up!!
