    "Unofficial" Mammoth Trail Map

Anyone remember the "unofficial" trail map for Mammoth that was posted here a couple years back? Can't remember what forum it was posted in. It consisted of amateur (kinda blurry) mountain photos with photoshopped names and colored lines down the runs. I've searched the forums to no avail. Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

A little bit better than amateur, should have most of the info you're looking for.

Not that one but thanks fellas. It had several photos and the POV was more from a ground perspective...at least I think so. Each run was noted on the photos and several were names not on the "official" map. I think there were about 4-5 photos?

Did you try clicking on the names on the map?

That was way cool. Now I feel not only did I waste 15 minutes but I have unofficially been to Mammoth. Anyone know any other resorts where the avalanche patrol has put something like this together?

What's the name of the chute between Dragon's Head and Dragon's Back 5 on the "Daves" section? It's just behind that Dragon's Head ridge in the picture. I love that run.

Monger...I just call 'em the Head Chutes. The thing that I don't like about that stuff coming off the ridge is the friggin' traverse ruts coming off Chair 9.

Don't get me started on mammoth and all the traverse ruts idiots make.:nono: They ruin too many great runs.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

    sy,
I seem to remember that thread, too. Lots of P-shopped red lines and scrawling. Oh well, it'll turn up sooner than later. Nice resurrection of a link. Didn't know about the "click-on" feature and photos of the runs. Not enough wind whipping through most of 'em, though ...

I have a bunch a Bring a Friend coupons. I think they require three days advanced purchases. I can mail 'em to you if you send me a PM with mailing information.

Oh, the various lines off Top of the World look like filled in fine on the last storm. I was too busy skiing the BC to know for sure, but Serbes looked as fat as it has for a few years. Werners is probably good. Huevos looks okay.

Those two nasty rocks below the LZ on Huevos sure look a lot nastier from above than they do in a picture.

Chicken balls and werners were quite tasty last weekend. Kiwi was a bit firm. Ran into some other maggots up there but forgot the handles...

Hey dude! Good running into ya! That was me, BigKuba, and MachLooney. (Although not knowing what I was getting myself into I was even a little to chicken for the chicken balls, though whatever I went down instead - Rock Garden? was pretty darn nice Think I was just starting to come out of the hangover at that point...)
