    Colorado: Sunlight and Powderhorn question

Hi, I'm heading out to Utah later this week or earlier next week, whenever it starts snowing again. Before I go out I'm going to be skiing around Colorado; probably Vail/ Beaver Creek, a day or two a Monarch and maybe a day at Loveland. I am wondering if anyone has been to Powderhorn or Sunlight, and if its worth stopping by on the way to utah. I've got the monarch pass so I get a few free days at each, and if either are any good I would be interested in trying them out, just for something new. Thanks for any info.

i'd go to sunlight before powderhorn, but i'm biased as it's the only mountain i skied at from age 3-8. either one will be better than not skiing at all. sunlight got 18" yesterday!

Thanks, would it be worth it to leave the summit county area to check it out or no?

What about wolf creek? I've heard good things, is it worth checking out for a day?

I grew up skiing Powderhorn and have skied Sunlight a few times. Powderhorn and Sunlight are about the same. Powderhorn has two lifts. Nothing very steep. Mostly groomers. There are a few boulder fields to play around in. No lift lines.

If you have a ticket for me I will show you around at Powderhorn. Good tree skiing if you know where.

The two lifts are super duper slow, but the place has not been crowded when I was there so you get plenty of vertical in.

Most definetly. Wolf Creek can be the best place to ski in Colorado on many days of the year. I was there three weeks ago and had knee deep snow for 2days several days after a very big dump. Every run was untracked.

Hitting Sunlight and Powderhorn are on my list, I have not made it to them yet.

    Have fun.
