Inbounds avy at Squaw vs. Patroller?? Info Please
I've been at work all day, but was there really a large avy inbounds at Squaw this morning that buried a Patroller? Anybody up this morning with any news or info about this?

from the Tahoe conditions thread
Another crazy morning over at Squaw. 4-9' crown on HW face to hogs back took out a patroller, send out your good vibs as he's in Tahoe Forest recovering...word is that the entire top of Super Squaw will need to be replaced this summer (at least it's not KT or HW)...
as a Squaw jong, what is Super Squaw?

Yes, Squaw One. Headwall face/hogsback went at about 6-8' took him through the trees. Not a full burial, but multiple broken bones and he is in Washoe. Vibes +.

Split It, my sources tell me it happened before the mtn was open. They tried to call care flight, but due to the weather no luck. They retrieved him in a snowcat. Apparently he is doing ok and his name starts with an A. That's all I got, and this is unconfirmed.

I just received some very sobering news third hand. The worst kind. I'm hoping it's misinformation.

Jeez, this kind of thread sends a chill down my spine.
HSA I hope that's not the case.

Update, his name didn't start with an A and it sounds as though the news is not good. I'll let someone else confirm. Vibes

++++Vibes for him and his family.
still hoping this turns out better than it's heading.
ELA, still don't know how you get more information living in Patagonia than most of us living within 20 miles of Squaw.

The bad, bad news has been confirmed. I don't feel right giving out a name. But it did start with an A and he's been patrolling a Squaw for quite a while. He busted me once for jumping off KT but I've still liked him all along. RIP.
