    ACL, MCL, PCL Reconstruction 2/9

I go in bright and early tomorrow morning for this fun experience. combination of auto/allo cause i dont have enought tendons to spare. Doc says this is one of the longest knee surgeries he ever does and to expect 4+ hours in the OR. good news is that after this i am able to heal and recover from all of my other injuries without any more time under the knife. really looking forward to that.

Most folks who have that surgery end up with several subsequent procedures for stiffness.

My family and I will include you in our prayers.

    Word dude.

Take that rehab seriously and you will be skiing in no time. I was never in better shape than 6 months post-surgery for my ACL.

    Good luck.

Probably not what dude wants to hear prior to his surgery. "Most People" could mean that 49% don't have to have anything done.

How bout just a vibes and the prayers part.

Good Luck Roon, you'll do fine mang!

No doubt! Last thing anybody wants to hear before going under the knife is this sort of thing!

Good luck! Always be positive and you will recover so much faster. It's nice to get all that done and be confident upon returning to the sport.

Spend enough time in here and you know to ignore Dr. Mark. That comment is a typical one for him. And I highly doubt he dispenses those types of comments and then runs home and asks his family to pray for someone on the internet he doesnt know and obviously doesnt really care about.

I just don't post touchy feely stuff. Perhaps is if were an accountant or a car salemen, I could post like that. But 30 years in the medical trenches, have tainted my optimism.

People have their Mothers and their friends, actual and virtual, for touching and feeling.

I pass information from the peer reviewed medical literature into layman's terms.

This is not a pretty business and most cases don't go smooth as silk.

Mountainskier, your recent posts prove the point.

    ...blahblahblah....

point is, your original post carried zero worth. zero. the original poster was really just looking for some positivity the night before a pretty serious operation. that's all.

so posting something indicating they'd probably be headed back to the operating table in the future was....useless. carried no worth.

sometimes the "touchy feely stuff" is really all that people are looking for. but thirty years trenching your taint has apparently made you oblivious of that....

    Holy shit man, that's long.

I overheard something about "the avalanche guy" but they wouldn't tell me anything else due to HIPPA and then they wheeled me in for mine.

I've been out for a couple weeks with a meniscus tear. He went in and trimmed it off today, mine went well too. (and I'm pretty buzzed right now)

Glad to hear things are looking good for you man, your knee was wrecked. Pat Greiss is THE MAN, I love his work!

    Good luck man!

back at home. everything(ACL, MCL, PCL) was replaced. since some of my hammy tendons from my left leg were taken as well, moving around is pretty much impossible. Doc says im looking at around 3 weeks of immobility for my right leg. this is going to be a ton of fun.

so today sucked. still hurt like a motherfucker with a cocktail of oxy, lortabs, and some kind of nerve dampener in my system. mainly concentrated on lying as still as possible trying not to move my leg at all. stairs are impossible. i knew it was going to be bad, but this blows.
