    BitTorrent JONG help

So, I've searched around to join the BT club and I have many questions. I downloaded Vuze, and I decided to do a test with finding Bob Marley's redemption song, which for some reason is missing from my itunes.

    This is my confusion:

    1. I couldn't find a simple mpeg. I got a ton of videos and huge audio files, something like 300 MB.

    2. I got a list of like 100 sites. What sites are trusted and what sites are a problem.

    3. Several sites were forums that took me back to itunes or had no file to download.

    4. Why do I have vuze?

Sorry for the jong questions. I searched but couldn't find the answers to my simple ass questions.
looking for a good book? check out mine! as fast as it is gone

bittorents aren't like itunes store. You can't exactly just look for a song and download one song. Its more for use finding collections as they are easier to store and not frivolous like a single song would be. you could try and find a torrent with marleys song in it, and download only that song.

your best bet is to use limewire or anyother p2p filesharing program. just search it and dl

torrents tend to be entire albums or discographies

I typically use torrentreactor or mininova to search and download with transmission (mac)

I personally use uTorrent as my torrent client. Thepiratebay and mininova are great sites to start with, but there's plenty of other sites out there for more specialized genres, or private trackers that require registration but offer much faster download speeds usually. When searching for torrents, you'll generally want to choose to download the file that has the most "seeds" or "seeders" to get the best speed. Check out the FAQ on the uTorrent site, it has lots of useful info in there.

As stated above, you're not going to be downloading just a song at a time. Just download the whole Marley discography, that's what I did.
I think that the human mind is unique among all other forms of life in that it can spontaneously create unique thoughts and provide unique behaviors. Instead of rewarding that uniqueness we, for some reason probably because of cultural and social necessity, we chastise unique behavior and reward conformity.

I still use limewire for individual tunes. Some people don't like it, but it's pften the way to find rare tracks.

For Albums I use www.torrentz.com It searches a bunch of other torrent sites, and requires no membership. Download the torrent file and pull it off on limewire. Easy.

    You're welcome.

unless your the primary seeder of leaks of upcoming high profile music releases or current release movies you shouldn't have to worry about an ip anonymizer.

I read an article somewhere this month that the music industry has basically decided to stop prosecuting illegal downloads. They are now working with isp's to develop a way to bill the individuals that are doing the downloading for each song that has been downloaded. Here is a related article http://www.tomsguide.com/us/piracy-R...news-3323.html So, get your discographies now.

In Britain the music industry is working with isp's to develop a system to BAN anyone that downloads illegally from the internet. http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/...cle3353387.ece

And, as of this month the EU is talking about placing a BAN on Pirate Bay. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Torrents...news-3414.html

I don't understand much about ISP's and what not. Can a person even access the internet without using one of the major isp's? Could a group provide an underground ISP that doesn't work with the governments?

Our internet is getting taken over. What are you gonna do about it? http://www.savetheinternet.com/

The stupid thing about it is that the music industry could be thriving instead of dying if they would embrace the new technologies and develop revenue stream outside of selling 3 minutes of noise for .99

I mean 10.00 to download 40 minutes of music. Fuck off. 10.00 for an hour of music with a great piece of artwork on the cover, a sticker, liner notes, song lyrics and a picture book. Absolutely.

As noted, if you're going to use torrents single songs aren't going to be readily available. I have a Mac, use Vuze, and IMHO think it's the closest thing to Morpheus or KaZaa to come out in recent years (based on ease of use and availability, barring single song selection). If you have a PC I'd be wary of using Limewire... I've had more than one friend's PC get complete virus lockup from Limewire (although he probably clicked on that too good to be true porn link). I'm not an Apple fanboy, but no viruses is a great feeling.

As far as the music industry; if anyone is interested in a great read stemming from the shutdown of the best music torrent site to grace the planet, Oink, read this article...
