which core is in my AK rocket lab?

I've heard the early production orange AK rockets were foam core, but some of the later ones were wood core. Not sure which model year I have, but they have orange topsheets with what looks like a front of boot line, dimple, and midsole mark just behind the dimple.

Called Salomon cust service and the guy I spoke to said as far back as his catalogs went, every AK rocket was wood core... earliest year it was in the catalog was 04 according to him.

Is there any way to tell if it's wood or foam?

I think that all the 195, non-pilot, 10+cm swallow tails where wood core.

If they're not noodles they're wood core.

even if they are noodles, they may still have a wood core (k2 hellbent) the only way you'll know for sure is to drill the skis. when drilling, pay attention to the material pulled out by the bit. if ye see foam then its foam if ye see wood then its wood if ye see purple then yer on drugs. best of luck.
