FS: Karhu Meta Approach Skis NEW

    $200 shipped in North America.

I have a brand new pair of Karhu Meta Approach Skis. Never been used. I'd planned to take the bindings off and mount Dynafit toes to them for use when snowboarding in hard boots. I never got around to it and have since decided to stick to using skis for BC on soft days (when I would have used these) and a board for BC on boot-pack days.

These have been sitting in my garage for over a season and I think I should sell them to a good home. Anyone?

If you don't know, they are ~120cm long and dims are 135-110-120.

Here's a description from an online place that used to sell them:

Without a doubt, one of the most innovative outdoor winter equipment designs, the Karhu Meta All-Terrain Skis are a fresh approach that expands the traditional free-heel market – no special boot and binding combination are needed. The fat oversized design provides a stable and maneuverable platform similar to snowshoes, while the built-in bearfur base creates unbelievable grip going uphill and excellent balance between thrills and controlled glide on the downhill - no matter how steep the slope or tight the trees are! Full length metal edges for a solid bite when climbing and confident control when encountering downhills. The pre-mounted, fully adjustable & universal bindings allow you to use any hiking boot or snow boot, no specific ski boots necessary! Snowshoe-Ski poles recommended (sold separately; see below)

The Karhu Meta Skis are widetrak for all-terrain use in backyards, parks, ski trails, snowshoe trails and backcountry. Ski construction is a wood core. Base integrated "Bearfur" Climbing Skin in no-wax sintered base. Universal binding is designed to fit any hiking shoe or winter boot, and the binding combines an adjustable telescoping body with a PU highback for ultimate stability, control, and flexibility. Forefoot and instep ratcheting buckles ensure easy adjustment for the ultimate in comfort.

    Dimensions: 135-110-120
    Length: 120cm.

I haven't looked in a while, but I seem to recall that mine have yellow skins, not white as pictured above.

Paypal preferred. Will ship on Monday when I get home from Tahoe.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

Still available. Email sent back to you. Only catch is I can't ship them until after Pres' weekend, unless I can get AlpineDad or StormDay to grab them this w/e and ship them for me. Let me know how urgently you need them and we'll work it out. Check your email.

Given this was your first post, I'm going to want to make sure you are legit and payment clears before I ship anything. Hope you understand.

    Karhu Meta Skis

Are these still available. I have a pair, and would love to have these for replacement parts as one of my bindings just broke.

I bought these three years ago and only tried them out a couple times. I put less than a mile on them. They still look great.

At one point, I planned on installing G3 Targa climbing wires and full skins on the bottom. They are included. Holes have been drilled to accommodate the wires, but they are covered by the ski heel pad. The skins will need to be reglued or permanently affixed to the bottom of the skis.

I'll take $170 or best offer to ship anywhere in the 48 states.
