    Full Tilt boot review

    The boot: 08/09 Konflict

I got these boots early this season and have 40-50 days on them. I have hiked in them, skinned in them, and most importantly skied the shit out of them.

The good: They are really light- pounds lighter than my old Dalbello Kryptons. They come with intuition liners. No shin bang. 3 piece design makes for ease of entry as well as ease of hiking and skinning. They feel like shoes compared to the kryptons.

The bad: They took extensive work to fit right. I dremelled out the plastic rings that go around the bolts inside the shell, heat fitted the intuition liners, and stretched the inner shell. The plastic they are made of seems to be pretty soft. I have a lot of scratches and gouges, mostly from hiking across rocky terrain. Since they are only three months old, this makes me question their longevity. I might look into doing a Vibram Sole project in the future if this gets to be too bad.

Overall performance: These boots are precise, this is probably due to the lateral stiffness. They take some getting used to since they are so short, but in the end I don't think they sacrifice performance because of it. I use the stiff tongue, which isn't that stiff, but still performs well. My main ski is a High Society 187, but I have ridden Profit 130's with no problem.

Boots I've had in the past: Two pairs of Salmon X wave 10, which fit and performed great, and a Dalbello Krypton Pro, which did not fit well but performed great.

Great Boot, I would recommend it.
