    thoughts on scarpa tornado pro

    Hey,

I wanted to hear from people with experience with At boots. I am a park skier/backcountry snowmobile skier. I have hard to fit feet. I have pretty much given up on skiing altogether in favor of snowboarding, because I have not been able to find a boot that is comfortable/warm/yet I can still make a turn in.

I have tried the dalbello krypton, full tilt, technica agent, surefoot custom injects, etc with little or no luck. The agent being the best of the bunch.
Not sure if an AT style boot would or could help with any of this, but I like the idea, I like that they are lightweight. Curious if anyone has an opinion?

That was a little open ended. I guess Im curious to see if anyone thinks that using a boot like this could work in the park, and if AT boots are in fact any more comfortable than traditional alpine boots. Thanks.

The Tornado Pro is more of a 'tweener' boot than a pure AT AFAIK. I like mine for their lightweight, versatility (DIN compatible) and thermo form comfort. Easy to get on and off. Walk and ski modes. The touring tongue and 'carving' tongue are a little akward to swap out, but they offer you choice depending on what you are using the boot for. The DIN compatible Garmonsts are also a good option for similar reasons.
    Best regards, Terry

    Exactly.

Nice boot... very happy with mine. But as always, it's all about fit.

A bit out-there but, I've definatly blown out of the "ski" mode on my T1s. Granted, I have shitty steeze, but I'm not sure how much park abuse the mech could take, if its the same.

Did you blow out of ski mode, or possibly not properly engaged ski mode in the first place? Not trying to insult your intelligence here at all, but when I first got my boots I didn't know you had to switch to ski mode, and then heavily lean forward on the boot until it clicks in. Since I figured that out, no problems at all with the Tornados.
