salomon impact 10 or impact pro?

So i'm debating which boot to get. i tried the impacts on and they fit my foot perfectly, i'm just torn whether to get the impact 10 (110 flex) or the impact pro (120 flex). i'm an aggressive athletic skier and i like a stiff boot. the big question i have is are there any disadvantages to a stiffer boot? i'd really appreciate any advice on this, especially if you've tried these boots.

    EDIT:
i forgot to ask, will i even notice the slight difference in flex?

I found that the Impact 10 is less stiff than the Old X Wave 10 which was what my shins needed.

They are very comfortable, and fit my foot perfectly in a size 26/26.5 and I'm street size 91/2 10. I'm 6'1" 175lbs.

When I feel my best, I feel like I want the little bit more stiffness...

One other thing. I find that the white plastic lower section of the shell is a soft plastic that does not hold up if you are hiking on rocks.

The replaceable toe and heel lugs have no contact with the critical points on the binding. They are just what you walk on. Be careful when walking on shallowly buried rocks and such, as you will gouge up the thin toe piece where it contacts the binding. That is how I wore out my x waves, which were harder plastic.

I think, but I'm not sure that the lower part of the shell on the impact pro may be a harder plastic. In addition, I heard somewhere that they have a rubber bottom kind of like a touring boot but not quite. I could be wrong about that.

Love skiing the impact 10's though, they are a great all around boot. Much less shin bang than x waves for me.

I've got 3 days on the impact pro's and love them. The sole is a hard rubber, not quite a vibram AT sole, but definitely not hard plastic. They ski great and are super comfy. The lower of the shell is a harder black plastic and is holding punches in the toes and ankle well. Xwave 10 was my old boot as well, and these things are very reminiscent of those. stoked!

    Pro vs 10 shell?

Do anyone know whats makes the Pro stiffer?
I was told the shells are the same stiffnes, but the Pro's liner are stiffer due to 3 layers of EVA foam. http://www.salomonsports.com/no/#/sk...ots/impact-pro
The info about the Impact 10 says the liners have 2 layers. http://www.salomonsports.com/no/#/sk...oots/impact-10
But the box that pops up when moving the marker over the text: *MY CF PRO*, says the liner have 3 layers.

I wask because i will use a Conformable foam liner.

    NICE BUMP!!!!!

    TALK ABOUT STIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey d-bag - here's something for you to think about: maybe (just maybe) not everybody here has their little panties in a wad 24/7 and flies into a rage whenever somebody disagrees with them. Maybe these same mags don't take this place uber-seriously. Maybe this even includes the vast majority of the people who post here as opposed to you and like 20 other thin-skinned douchebags. Just something to think about. -JER
