So what's the preferred uphill route at Snowbowl?

Prefered by whom? Sunrise Bowl > Second Thought > Highroller takes less time than up Paradise, but Paradise gives the option of skiing Meadows and/or the cliffs, or East Bowl, without going to the top. More energetic youthful types often go straight up the Outrun, up the creek and then up West Bowl, or East of East, if you have the cardio this is definitely fastest.
I usually do the Paradise route, because I get most of the work out of the way on the lower part before it gets much easier, and the upper part is more of a cool down than work.
I've also gone up Second Thought and then taken the road that goes up to Upper Griz, a good choice if you plan on stopping at the A-frame, but the steep skinning on upper Griz is a bit much IMO.
Often in the spring, Pat will plow Second Thought, and fuck it up for skinning (cat tracks, oof). I expect he'll wait on that a while due to the early closure, but he can be pretty petty if hikers bother him, he's even plowed the Outrun in recent years, just to make people quit coming up. Pat used to be friendly to hikers after closing, but the timetable for the new lift made him pretty uptight about getting started with work ASAP in the spring. Maybe he'll chill now that it's done.
I wouldn't bother skinning from lot 2, the skin track is going to be nasty with pine tar and needles. I'll park right outside the gate, but not against the bank, rocks fall off it in the spring.I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. -אלוהים אדירים

Neff is technically the route that doesn't cross private property if they're not gonna be uphill friendly.
Eventually they will start working on zip lines and other stuff, so who knows.
I'll have to check it out one of these days.
Thanks for the info, Ras.

I was up at Snowbowl today for a quick hike to the top of Griz Chute (it was still frozen around 12:15 pm, but better than not skiing), surprisingly, Sunrise Bowl was freshly groomed, and Second Thought was as well. I've never seen that after closing before.

Nothing to report about the job. Took a lap near Lincoln a couple days back, here are a couple pics. This chute across form where I skied still goes for a week or two, price of admission is 3k vf and 1.5 mile road skin if the avy danger remains low and it gets a lot sunnier someone can bag it(I can pm exact location), but you it's probably very easy to figure out. Probably a good idea to bring a partner for that as well.

^^That line does look cool, near Rogers Pass? I have elk hunted around there some, it's rough country.
Couple inches of refresh made it seem almost winterlike on Belmont this afternoon. LLS I saw the house you're building--nice. Let me know if you ever want to do a lap after work, I'm trying to get up there a couple days a week. Usually leave town around 4.

Ha! Weird.
Maybe they keeping it more accessible to work vehicles of 1 kind or another?
Lot of antennas need to get worked on up there. However they button up at the end of the year and convert to summer ops.
911 dispatch broadcasts off Point 6 and that tends to be pretty important.
Did you cross the parking lot then going up and down?

Crossed it going down. I usually take Paradise up for the 'straight shot' convenience, and because it's a good workout. Having new snow on a firm base gave it good grip to point and go.
Always was curious about each antenna and it's purpose. Between TV mtn, top of Lavelle, and Point six there is a lot of infrastructure up there.

I can see at least 1 cell tower, some microwave transmitters for TV or IT company's infrastructure (at least 1 of the Montana-wide broadcasters has a packet switched network), and the rest is a top secret mind control project to make us love Snowbowl no matter how poor the conditions or management can get.
