Anyone who has ever played jingle bell rock. Apparently that list includes Billy Idol, which I wouldn't normally put anywhere near "worst band ever" territory, but so be it. I hate christmas music more than country and jam bands combined, and trying to pawn it off as rock is just offensive.

And seriously, CCR and Bon Jovi? Regardless of my opinions on those particular bands (poor man's skynard, gets better with booze - respectively), there are waaay worse bands out there. And Soul Asylum trumps Counting Crows in the "Worst Band of the Mid Nineties" contest (but counting crows were pretty goddamn awful).

Lot's of great suckage mentioned. I'll throw in Rod Stewart (voice makes my skin crawl), Beck, and just about any 80's band from Europe (the same shit all these dumbass kids now think is cool)

...because the only band to actually suck scrotum is Bon Jovi.

    Otherwise I agree with you.

I'm also on the Creed/Nickelback vying for the top spot on the worst list with Counting Crows bandwagon. But if those three are the worst, what do you do with Limp Bizkit?
Thank you for mentioning the awesomeness that is "High and Dry".

I still don't think Hinder, Nickleback, etc. can trump Creed.

Creed is the same douchy generic pop-rock, but with an extra douchy christian message.

I dunno. It's so subjective. I like a lot of these bands that some of you hate and don't care for some of the bands some of you like.

Try picking up a guitar and playing and singing in front of people. I give props to anybody who can do this- let alone have other people pay to hear it.

This is obviously a troll. Anyone who doesn't recognize "Ten" as one of the greatest albums of the 90's needs to listen again.

I played in bands in college and for a while afterwards... I ended up waiting to play after some god-awful shit and saw bands so bad that I could not stand to watch or listen. All time worst...

drummer, synth and singer... singer tapes the microphone onto his face and proceeds to flop around on the ground screaming over unrecognizable screeching from the synth and pattern-less drumming.

I made it through about 4 seconds before I hit the door.

Arguable if you can call that a "band"... but by far the most un-watchable attempt I've ever witnessed.

Saw something similar at a battle of the bands. They were booed off the stage. It was awesome.

Oh, and how has Linkin Park not made its whiney little way into this thread?

Anything Phil Collins has ever been involved with sucks out loud as well. Add him to the list.

It's funny listening to all these posters who pretend like they didn't rock out to Creed songs when they came on the radio. Why are you guys afraid to admit that they wrote some catchy shit and you liked it at the time.

BS. i was living in seattle back then and knew most of the people in the nascent music scene. we all pretty much laughed at pearl jam. they had low cred for the most part. none of the awesomeness of early soundgarden or nirvana. there was something mainstream about p. jam right from the start. but not the worst band by any means. just a meh band.

but CREED...come on. they came along later and were just an obvious marketing 'christian grunge' schtick. we laughed harder at them. no redeeming qualities (pun intended).

still for my money you can't beat the suckiness of Rush. Like Toto, they have excellent musicianship, but still suck.

Yeah, nirvana and soundgarden were great bands too. And when people first heard nirvana they thought it was cruel joke. Everyone made fun of the grunge bands at first because they were still hung up on the crappy hair rock of the 80s, they couldn't handle anything original. But if you don't like Pearl Jam, that's fine, not everyone can appreciate good music.

^^^Primus most definitely does not suck. And Rush is actually pretty good when there is no singing involved. My old roommate was I huge fan. I had never heard of them before I lived with him. I thought Geddy Lee was a chick for a while. Can't sing for shit, but plays a pretty mean bass.
