What is the best Freeride Boot out there?

What are the best freeride boots on the market? AND WHY

Just had my Nordica Dobermann race boots stolen and wanted to go for an all-out Freeride boot that'll still handle a Factory race ski as well, got tiny girly ankles, means so far i have looked at:

-Rossi B-Squad Pro - safe bet?

    -Lange Banshee Pro

    -Atomic Nuke?

-Salomon Ghost - is it a bit soft at F.I. 110?

-Technica Agent 130 - seems really heavy

-FullTilt Konflikt - what are the downsides to the three piece shell and wire buckles?

-Dalbello Krypton Pro - durability issues it seems?

    - Garmont Shaman - does it suffer by being geared a bit toward Telemark?

Please! any advice would be greatly appreciated, i only know what the manufacturers tell me....apparently they are all the best

Ok ok, good point thats the advice i always give people too,

but the majority of low volume boots fit me with few problems, i just cant test performance in the shop, wanted some input from people who'd used them. Looking for full on power and grip.

I would agree you are confused

I would say the best boots are the boots that fit you the best that you like

Fair enough. I skied the Nordica Top Fuel (now Blower) for 4 years and really like it as it was the same fit as the Dobermann Pro. Most freeride plug boots are a 98mm last (as is the Blower) which I still find a little wide for my foot narrow ass size 11.5 foot. This year I am moving to a Lange Comp 120 WC Fit (95mm). I do not feel the freeride boots are any better for freeride than a race boot. Throw a Booster strap on the race boots are you are good to go. Buy the shortest, narrowest boot you can comfortably fit your foot into.

    just my $.02

ok, let me help you out before jong slaughter awakes

you see that little box on the top right of the page that says "search this forum"?

start with that. after you've read the 2-3 dozen threads that are applicable, if you have a specific question, post it up. there's a ton of stuff on this forum. just take the time to look for it and read what's already been said.

edit: and you won't find a lot of it under "freeride boot". searching the boot brands is your best bet. or type site:http://www.tetongravity.com/forums "tech talk" and your search into the google.

red boots are for racing ONLY, so avoid them at all costs

Yellow or black are for freeride so get them.

also trade in the speed suit for a XXL ugly pants. otherwise the boots will not work

I have crazy blue boots for racing, and dark blue ones (Grammont, I think?) for touring. They are the best. Just make sure they say "Superfeet" and then you know you've paid the most, which is also the best.

If he's asking what the "best boot is", he doesn't need 120 durometer boots. More like 65.

you should get the sharman because they are good for telemark, but you wont notice any different when you are alpine skiing.

Maybe you should seach some other posts, jackass. I've reviewed almost every next-gen AT boot out there.

Search is your friend. Then if your like me, you go in, try the pair on you've researched, "hmmm, these feeling fucking rad", pay for them and your good to go for 3-4 years. I am fortunate to have feet that feel good in most boots.
I just bought a pair of Dragon 120s. Felt great in the store, we will see after a few weeks out. My buddy got some Agent 110s, same story.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I have really narrow ankles and the ghost's fit great out of the box. Don't feel too soft but I'm only 160lbs.

Don't only buy what fits, buy what you want the boot to do. If you fit almost anything get something designed for your style. Boots are becoming as dialed in as skis. I bought Ghosts, which is the first time I have *ever* bought Salomon boots. Why not? Two buckles, rubberized instep, softer yes!!, rubber plug under the heel, liner laces, wider stance. Quite a change from plug race boots I have been wearing the past 15+ years.

Btw Tele evolution is GOOD. Tele boots have a wider, bigger toe plug. See the Jester + Duke? Moving away from old narrow DIN standard to a tele width for new bindings will mark the moment when the boots and bindings start catching up to the wide width in skis. Only then will the gear begin to integrate on the freeride level. Pure orgasm. A few people are trying to fit tele boots into Dynafit bindings this year to make that happen on a DiY level.
