It's gonna be cold on Sunday. Ready for the snow for sure, but not so sure if I'm ready for single digits!

snow-forecast.com has sunday morning pegged for -17 degrees! OMFG... Looks like tons of pow for those hardcore enough to survive the joy. I've been looking at driving all the way over there but that might be a bit too brutal for me.

Of course I picked the most extreme day to harp on but they show the temp fluctuating from 0 down to -24 for the next 9 days.

snow-forecast? Go to the source. Right around zero sunday. Blower light snow at those temps, and all the gapers staying in the lodges.

Wait, no, you're right, 17 below, better stay home, it's dangerous even driving at those temps!

STFU and sac up you pussy. That is not that cold for this time of the year. Go ski or ride or whatever. Hiking for turns and you will be stripping off layers. GRRRRRR....

The wind has died down a bit in the last 1/2 hour. Can now tell if it is snowing as opposed to just blowing.....it is snowing. 26 east out of town is closed - blowing and drifting. Just the first of many closures I am sure!

I can hear something up on the roof thumping around, guess I need to get out there and see what the hell it is.....

Looks like a few outfits up on the pass. A little too windy for me thanks..... I can wait. After roof inspection I think I will run up to our little hill and see what is shaping up. Snow I expect!

does anyone know have some beta on the drive from big sky to jackson?

mapquest says a little under 4 hrs, but what is it like in winter weather? is it mostly tame "valley" driving other than teton pass? if its snowing at either mtn range, will the valleys stay clear or will it be nuking the whole drive, should road closures be expected?

That drive can be an absolute bear...rolling,indy hills between Tetonia-Ashton, black Ice and monster trucks between Ashton-Island Park, Targhee pass, it just depends. Can often be white-out, blowing and drifting snow. Hell, the road from Driggs-Victor can often be worse than the Pass, white-out wise.

hazards aside, Targhee area looks like it has the most snow coming for the next 9 days of anywhere in mid to west of the US or Canada. Telluride Colorado is gonna get smashed the next few days but then dries up, Targhee looks like solid track-filling snow as far as the eye can see. Pretty wicked!!! Whoever's over there now's a lucky devil.

I was heading home once last spring and stopped in bozeman for lunch and it started snowing. when i left bozeman at 1230 it had only snowed an inch or two. i didn't get home to jackson until 9 or so.
