Looks like it's about to get interesting around here.

Its gonna blow over, it always does, whenever they make it up to be huge, it blows over. (anti jinx)
A complex monster sounds good for the 'Ghee and J-Hole! Can't wait.
what is RPK3?
It's gonna be cold on Sunday. Ready for the snow for sure, but not so sure if I'm ready for single digits!
Rendezvous Peak....the mountain's (partrols) scale for anticipating/forecasting storms..1-3, three being the biggest.... overheard theyre calling for 12-14 inches in the next 24...
he-said, she-said blah blah blah....just hoping for it to start NUKING and not shut off for a while!!
looking at IF radar... here it comes...
BRING IT ON, STORM!!!

snow-forecast.com has sunday morning pegged for -17 degrees! OMFG... Looks like tons of pow for those hardcore enough to survive the joy. I've been looking at driving all the way over there but that might be a bit too brutal for me.
Of course I picked the most extreme day to harp on but they show the temp fluctuating from 0 down to -24 for the next 9 days.
snow-forecast? Go to the source. Right around zero sunday. Blower light snow at those temps, and all the gapers staying in the lodges.
Wait, no, you're right, 17 below, better stay home, it's dangerous even driving at those temps!![]()
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

get em pup! it's snowing in jackson....
Thanks for the motivation, I knew someone would call me a pussy for saying its "too cold" out there.
Just another reminder as to what is hanging out under the fluffies.http://www.jhavalanche.org/summaries.php
Check out the pics from the slide on headwall- maybe i missed hearing about it the first time around, but it is pretty sketch.
But I sure do love me some new snow
The wind has died down a bit in the last 1/2 hour. Can now tell if it is snowing as opposed to just blowing.....it is snowing. 26 east out of town is closed - blowing and drifting. Just the first of many closures I am sure!
I can hear something up on the roof thumping around, guess I need to get out there and see what the hell it is.....
Looks like a few outfits up on the pass. A little too windy for me thanks..... I can wait. After roof inspection I think I will run up to our little hill and see what is shaping up. Snow I expect!

.....go out and make this season the best season of your life. Ski that line, take that trip, slide that rail, make that leap, live for the moment, and make memories with friends that’ll last a lifetime, because as a great man once said, “If you don’t do it this year, you’ll be one year older when you do.”

Targhee did not suck today...got my 1/2 day in...now off to work.
does anyone know have some beta on the drive from big sky to jackson?
mapquest says a little under 4 hrs, but what is it like in winter weather? is it mostly tame "valley" driving other than teton pass? if its snowing at either mtn range, will the valleys stay clear or will it be nuking the whole drive, should road closures be expected?
That drive can be an absolute bear...rolling,indy hills between Tetonia-Ashton, black Ice and monster trucks between Ashton-Island Park, Targhee pass, it just depends. Can often be white-out, blowing and drifting snow. Hell, the road from Driggs-Victor can often be worse than the Pass, white-out wise.

hazards aside, Targhee area looks like it has the most snow coming for the next 9 days of anywhere in mid to west of the US or Canada. Telluride Colorado is gonna get smashed the next few days but then dries up, Targhee looks like solid track-filling snow as far as the eye can see. Pretty wicked!!! Whoever's over there now's a lucky devil.
nah i didn't mean right now. i will be there in early january.
for now, i'm stuck in central PA. yippee
